Wow...! This community run place gave us a very friendly welcome and it had great atmosphere. The food was incredible and fantastic value & Highly recommended.

We came here while staying at chapel terrace cottages ! Recommended by them & what a fantastic recommendation � we came with our kids who aren’t quiet at all and the staff were brilliant with us ! The food is superb and not your typical pub grub the presentation of the meals is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the environment & friendly staff and will definitely make another visit ! Keep doing what your doing !!

Such a lovely pub. The food is amazing and the staff are just as good. We also had the pleasure of enjoying the outside catering they offer when they supplied us with a gorgeous beef Wellington followed by chocolate dipping dessert! I would definitely recommend.

Staying in nearby Maulds Meaburn. The food was so amazing we’ve booked to come twice more!

Staff: brilliant, attentive, and genuinely happy. Made your first impression really positive.



Menu: too many things to choose that you'd want to order! Good British grub.... served with a sophisticated twist to make for a perfect combination.



Food: Quite simply delicious.



Service: Great. No pressure. Ticked every positive box.



The building: I'm no architect but its obviously very old but feels light and modern inside yet still has a leaning towards the old 'snug' and 'bar' days........ and yet doesn't have them!



We loved it and will definitely be back.

Our week in Cumbria was made all the better because of this pub! We have had Sunday dinner (the lamb was amazing), a snack.....of 3 starters (the pate and the salmon were gorgeous) and on our last night had dinner and pudding......the food was amazing and the staff - good old customer service at its best, bar staff attentive, polite and smiley �

Jon and Katie are the loveliest people I have ever met! We had a meal at the Butchers Arms on Friday with all our friends and family before our wedding on the Saturday. The food was fantastic and the service was the same. Katie and Jon also provided the bar for our wedding and they really did go above and beyond making our day so special!
