“Book this place! We loved our stay here at the beginning of October. This is a real home from home. The decor is beautiful, the log burner was brilliant but the shower...wow! The little touches such as the gorgeous lemon drizzle cake and little bottle of milk all helped to make for a relaxing stay. Fabulous countryside on the doorstep (Holker and Cartmel are a must) meant that not only my wife and I didn’t want to leave, but our two year old was desperate to stay! Thank you Mel.”

“Absolutely amazing great spot to walk from didn't use the car. Not an area I know but there is a real local vibe with fab shops and cafes. Great food too. We found the house to be super stylish very warm and cosy with super comfy beds too. Melanie is very thoughtful as there is an exceptionally comprehensive local guide and ideas for walks which we did. The walk up Hoad hill is hard but spectacular We booked very last minute and it was hassle free. Quite how she managed to leave us homemade lemon cake is incredible in itself and it was to die for. This was a welcome short escape from our busy lives and we loved it.”

It was glorious up Hoad this morning. This walk can be done from your front door - panoramic views of the Lake District Fells including England's highest mountain Scafell Pike, Yorkshire and beautiful Morecambe Bay. Maximum reward for not much effort!
