The nest has been located and treated and rest assured the problem has now been eliminated ready for you to enjoy the garden again when the heatwave returns next week.

We’ve passed our 6 monthly check again and are able to continue carrying the badge of honour.

Popped in for a mid week pint. Friendly staff and a nice relaxing setting with the fire on. Chilled out with the Mrs after a busy day. ��

Lovely food drink and relaxing with family and friends

Lovely big pub. Plenty of room to have your own space. Food was good and good value for money.

Went there for a Christmas meal never been there before will not go again. Not every one got the meal they ordered some got beef burgers instead of Christmas burgers when they ask why there were told they had none then the where told the had got then and they took the beef burgers back. One of us had ordered steak and was told after everyone was given theirs that they had not ordered it and anyway they only had one steak and that was gone. all the food for all of us had been ordered at least two or three weeks before and when they looked at there sheet it had been ordered but she had to order something else and when it came it was cold and when she sent it back it came back just a cold. This was just a few things that went wrong.

Went for with my wife for a meal last. Great food fab staff. Would recommend it to everyone. Well worth a visit.

Been our favourite for 3 course Sunday roast for ages. Sad to say at 1pm yesterday no trio of roasts no cauliflower cheese and no pigs in blankets!!! Place was empty inside so no excuse really!

Well well well.... we gave you the benefit of the doubt!! Today Sunday 10th June!! And yes you’ve guessed it!! Not just out of trios, cauliflower cheese n pigs in blankets! NO ROASTS AT ALL!! Sorry meat delivery never arrived after queuing 15 mins in a half empty pub! Think I know why now! Get your act together The California Public House it’s disgraceful and we come from Leatherhead!! Waste of time and fuel!

Staff excellent, wish I could say the same about food. All veg undercooked. Meat anemic looking. We didn’t enjoy the food at all. Won’t be going back

So I know the pub well I live local to it I had an aunty visiting so myself & hubby took my aunty & mum there for dinner. So we ordered steak (well done ) it came out bleeding. When I returned the meals to the bar I was told by the bar man I'm not a chef don't know what well done means. We then ordered pudding at 9:25pm the menu states last food orders at 10pm. So as I ordered at the bar I was told the kitchen now shut they need prepare for breakfast. I stated menu says 10pm. Another member staff over heard then kindly says if it just puddings it's ok take the order.

We waited 30 mins. I went to enquire the bar man tells me the chef threw the order away as she said no more. I had to be reimbursed.

I'm really not impressed. I won't be returning..!!

Slow service waited over an hour for three roasts beef extremely fatty freezer potatoes no proper sauces not ideal when eating with an inpatient five year old shame as we're local and would've returned regularly if service was better constant huge queue for the bar aswell would've brought desert and more drinks aswell

Service was terrible, staff sat down together having their dinner before they had even served ours. Food wasn’t good either

Not great today --ordered 2 roast beef --they sat on some other customer table --the staff then bought out some more meals --then realize the meals should be ours --picked them up and bought them over to us --so now cold plates ; don't think they were ever hot !!!! Food now cold ---don't know if the other table had played/ touched them --we took them back to the bar for a refund --you never see any managers around --itds not fair on the young staff --I have been going to this pub for years --it is not run at it full potential --AS IT USED TO BE A FEW YEARS AGO --

Highly disappointed, still sitting here waiting for our pudding... can't believe it's so hard to put together Christmas pudding and icecream. Never come here it's the worst. Especially on Christmas day, our timings were messed up and we were told that we had missed it. The couple next to us came here for the first time today and they have waited for an hour to an hour and a half for their mains with their little girls. Not acceptable.



As someone who works in the service industry I can understand the pressure but the longest I've ever kept someone waiting is 15 minutes tops. This is ridiculous.

Food choices often unavailable, jacket are microwaved, lack of toppings. Staff look unhappy in there work.

DO NOT grace the California in Belmont with your presence. During the week, tried to book for today for 22. Got told 'We don't take bookings on Sundays. Just turn up' So we turn up and are told we need to book for any party over 8. Argued the point that we tried but they wouldn't budge, and chef said he couldn't possibly cater for that many!!!!!!! And they wouldn't reimburse the car park cost, because they can only refund it when a meal is purchased!!!
