Not long come back from a 3 night stay at the carlton hotel Ilfracombe. We have stayed there 3 times before so we were pleasantly surprised at the improvements made to the hotel by Michael and Eliot. Our room was a deluxe queen which was tastefully decorated, warm and immaculately clean. The beds were really comfortable which is always a plus. Great breakfast and superb evening meal. All staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is in a nice quiet location and within easy walking distance to the town centre. The hotel has its own car park which is a bonus. So 5 stars all round we will definitely be returning . Wendy and Steven Spencer

It is a lovely clean hotel with very friendly staff and excellent breakfast, sadly didn't sleep to well as was right by the stairs and the noise both inside and outside was going on all night. Also the room was very warm and couldn't open the window properly. Would definitely go back and make a request on room next time.

Stayed over a bank holiday weekend. Staff were warm and welcoming. The third floor room was comfortable and clean. The water pressure was good enough for my shower. The free WiFi was excellent, achieving 30Mbps download. There were several power sockets available for charging phones etc. Cooked breakfast was delicious and recommended. I would highly endorse this hotel.

Doing some refurbishment but nonetheless an excellent establishment - food was good, staff attentive, and top class loos- well done for hosting the CombeBusiness event!

With friends who are walking the SWCP with me l spent 4 nights at The Carlton. Since our stay last year there has been a change of ownership which has resulted in a programme of refurbishment. The new library/lounge is a great addition. The standard of the food has vastly improved and the welcome given was good.
