THE NEW BOLEYN! amazing atmosphere, loads of singing, reasonable coinage for booze, decent grub! (Try the pie, mash and liccor!) I've visited the plough, the golden grove, the cow... all nearby pubs to the ground, the carpenters is by far the place to be! ⚒

I'm an out of town'er, so I wanted to try out the carpenters vs the builders, without doubt the carpenters had more people, more singing, more atmosphere, cheaper food and drink, which leads me into pie n mash, I ate in both places, the pie in the carpenters was about 50% bigger, better pastry and had beef chunks (not mince) I got an extra scoop of mash vs the builders arms plus all that for 50p less, not to mention there was a whole menu of other options to eat which wasn't the case in the builders arms. Bar service was instant vs a wait at the builders arms too. On my next visit it's a no brainer where to go.
