Young man behind the cocktail bar last night(24/3) is a credit to The Carriage House! Also, we hadn’t booked a table and there were 16 of us. The team upstairs bent over backwards to create space in the function room and delivered some good wholesome food! Well done Carriage House�����

Wow! So impressed with our meal last night. Newly refurbished it now looks incredible and the food was the best I've had in a long long time.

The meals were creative, the ingredients were fresh and they were beautifully presented, but most importantly they were absolutely delicious.

I will be going back with the girls, my kids, the in laws, pretty much anyone for any reason I can think of �

Went here for dinner with my friends Thursday night. Had the most amazing steak dinner. Everything nice and fresh. Will definitely eat here again and would recommend!

Went for a birthday meal, food was beautifully presented and just the right amount for starters. We had the burger and it was cooked perfectly. Overall service and atmosphere was lovely. Great value for money and would highly recommend.

We have been to numerous places for Sunday lunch but this is the best by far. Lovely restaurant friendly efficient staff and an amazing chef. Three of us had pork and one had gammon all beautifully cooked with a giant Yorkshire pudding that tasted delicious.Highly recommend this place for Sunday dinner.

We had a fantastic Christmas dinner up there yesterday the staff were fantastic the service was great you were not rushed and it was very in joyable the only people i didn’t thank were the chefs who made the day so once again thanks for a great service John Karen Alice and Louis cheers

My weekend at the Carriage... Friday night dinner with friends (black pudding Scotch eggs and beef steak cooked to perfection), watching the boxing Saturday night (great atmosphere) with the cricket lads and then Sunday lunch (both beef and lamb were very tasty) with my lovely wife. All meals were fantastic with great service in a relaxed setting. Staff always willing to chat. I highly recommend a visit for food and drinks.

Highly recommend ! Absolutely lovely home made food and great portion size also. Friendly staff and very child friendly also! Will definitely be back!

Had the best meal Sunday and the service was very good it's about time we had a good place for food in higham well done to you all and we will be back soon

Had a great lunch out with girlie friends today. Really friendly staff, reasonable price for lovely good food with excellent service and it was very nice lunchtime atmosphere. Would highly recommend it to others and shall be going back again

Excellent food and waiting staff. Always helpful and engaging even during busy times. Hadn't booked but as busy downstairs fitted us in upstairs; our waiter Matt was excellent. 10/10.

Came up from Bournemouth to attend a reunion party. I loved all of it, and the food was great. Hubby's burger was a little dry and no sauces were offered but still tasty... thank you! :-)

We went for a date night meal here. The service was good, atmosphere was calm and peaceful. the company was perfect! The food was lovely cooked to perfection. We are going again tonight for another date night so hoping it's just as good.

Overall a disappointing experience at The Carriage House, the start was good, booked our table, we were seated promptly, our first drinks arrived quickly, our food order was taken and the waitress was very helpful. Unfortunately my steak wasn't cooked as I'd requested, it was taken away and a replacement came about 10min later which is unfortunate as my friends had almost finished their dinner, they had taken away my knife and fork, however did not replace these, so had to use a normal knife and the fork for the starter, we ordered another round of drinks which was taken incorrectly and even when we informed them, they never changed the drinks, 1 of our glasses for the table water was also taken for no reason, we waited an age for the staff to take payment for the dinner and upon looking back I was charged an extra amount for the steak over and above what I had expected, they had not charged for the incorrect drinks. So on the whole a bad experience and doubtful we will be going back.

Cheese board was about the same , weird crisps !!!

Pig chop was quite fatty & not a lot in the meal & as for the cheesecake not a lot .

We came for my husbands birthday meal as a group of 16 last night and have to say it was a shambles and very unorganised.

We had to send a pre-order of starters, mains and desserts to the Manager and every single course came with a problem. The young girls that work in there did nothing but huff and puff when we informed them something was wrong. The pre-order went totally wrong somewhere along the line and even had 2 desserts completely missed off.

The service left something to be desired. Young staff standing behind the bar bitching about customers and left a very awful taste in everybody's mouth.

Such a shame as we had been recommended to go there, but definitely won't be going back.

Attended The Carriage House on Saturday 29th July to celebrate a friends birthday. After waiting 1/2 an hour to get served drinks in the bar, we went upstairs to dining room, It's a large bland room, with no atmosphere. The food was OK, nothing to shout about, service was ok, although very slow. We waited 20 minutes for coffee, and although we were the last table there, it took ages to get the bill.

Another disappointing meal at the Carriage House. Shop-bought pizza bases, lukewarm pies and forgot to even cook our son's meal so that he got his meal after we had finished ours.



We have eaten here on 3 occasions before and this isn't the first time this has happened. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and put it down to them just opening but we won't be coming back.



Such a shame. We were hoping that it would be somewhere that we could come of an evening. With Rushden Lakes restaurants opening soon they will have even more competition and seriously need to up their game.

We booked a table for tonight only to be told that the restaurant was closed because.... the staff had gone on a stag do???? I think that was a lie! Really poor we asked to see the manager but that didn't happen. It's a Shame the food used to be good. Still the bar is fine. Higham Ferrers needs a good restaurant.
