Friendly local pub with good basic pub food with limited wine list, good beer & limited choice of ciders

Lovely old Inn on the edge of Dartmoor; wonderful rooms and great food. Hasn't suffered from a corporate makeover; a Free House with masses of history and character.

Visited on a bust bank holiday weekend. Food service was exceptionally fast. The chips are some of the best I've ever had (very crispy outside, very light inside). Nice beer garden with lots of greenery. Good selection of local beer. Very traditional inside. Free parking across the road. Would recommend. Very convenient if visiting Lydford Gorge.

Very friendly staff and locals, had a great laugh with them all as it was a locals birthday! Good home cooked food. Had the beef and ale 'proper' pie. It was lovely. All reasonably priced for decent home cooked grub!

Great little inn. Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere(especially in the 'Shrug' seating) and, most importantly, the food was excellent and well priced. Will be visiting again during our stay.

We went into the left door and I'm not sure if there is more to it on the right but it was a rather small space. Filled with happy people though, who may have been regulars or at least locals. Friendly bar staff.
