The Castle Inn - Sandown

It's January 2019! Time for the first charity quiz of the year. This one will be for the RSPCA (Sandown branch). The quiz will start at 8pm sharp (recommend you arrive for 7:30pm to get set up) and is £2 per person entry. Prize donations for the end of night raffle are always appreciated! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome to our Christmas Draw at The Castle, Sandown! We start today at around 02.30pm, there will be lots of cash prizes as well as the usual £1000 and £500. The biggest Christmas draw in Sandown!

It's Christmas time at the Castle Inn!

A BIG thank you to everyone involved in our poppy appeal quiz night. With your help and donations we were able to raise over £500 (£750 when added to the collection tin)!

The charity quiz night for November will be on the 25th and is supporting the poppy appeal. If you are joining us for the evening quiz please arrive early as it will be busy and I will need to arrange extra tables before the quiz starts at 8pm. Thanks!

A BIG thank you to everyone who either took part in or provided raffle prizes for last nights charity quiz! Thanks to you all we were able to raise £269 for the Cat Protection Isle of Wight. So from Dave, Jo, Rick, all the staff and of course Tia and Maria - THANK YOU!

Another good friend has left us. Onz's funeral will be on the 25th September at 13:30 in the crematorium. Followed by the wake at the Castle Inn.

It's Charity time again! This month (September) we have two charity quizzes and two mad people shaving their hair off! On Sunday 23rd we are having a charity quiz supporting the Sandown & Shanklin independent lifeboat (8pm start). On Saturday 29th Sarah and a friend are having their hair shaven off for Cancer Research UK (approx 7pm followed buy a raffle) and on Sunday 30th We are having another charity quiz again for Cancer Research UK (8pm start) followed by a charity raffle.

What a pub I enjoyed my time in there the staff and customers are very friendly and welcoming atmosphere it's a proper pub hard to find these days keep up the good work and hope to be back soon

We visited The Castle whilst on a 2 day stay locally. There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very freindly. They have a Sunday quiz which was good fun and the bonus was we came 2nd and won £35. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the Sandown area on the Isle of Wight.

We called in when they were holding their beer festival. Good timing. Pub is decorated for Halloween,has to be seen to be believed. Oh great range of ales.

Very welcoming local pub with excellent bar staff. Very doggy friendly. A pub where you can easily engage in conversation with both locals and visitors alike. Nice warm and cosy in winter too.

Tried several pubs & bars in Sandown but the castle inn is without a doubt the best friendly staff and good ale

The castle inn is a great pub to me friend . Joe and Dave make you feel so welcome . And the bar staff are so friendly and helpful a great place to have a good drink and a laugh excellent decorations for Halloween and a great night

Stopped off for a drink as part of the classic buses and beer weekend. Fantastic atmosphere, the pub having been decorated for Halloween especially. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the ales for sale. We had to go back on the Sunday to sample a couple more.

Proper pub, great beer and the steak that I won in the meat raffle was absolutely fantastic, so tender you could cut it with a spoon!

One absolutely excellent pub. Very cosy with great buzzing atmosphere. Right round corner from our hotel. Was on Iow for beers and buses weekend. Was in this pub 3 nights running as such great pub. 100% top marks for this place. Lovely garden as well

As visitors to the island we found the staff and locals very friendly and welcoming. Ale well kept and a good range. Love the local gin as well.

Always a top boozer! Ales are always well kept an there's a lovely coal stove in the middle to keep you cozy. Staff are invariably welcoming and if you like pets, go and meet the cats, Tia and Maria and dog Max.
