The Catalysts By Anamika Description

The book is a work of fiction and encompasses misfortune, tragedy, adventure, poetry, humour and above all, love.
The story is about an orphan named Meera who flees from a traumatic childhood into an unknown future and pledges to make the world her family. She is adopted by a loving childless couple, tastes first sweet but short-lived love, meets a significant woman called Zara with whom she forms a surreal bond.
She moves to Bombay, works to facilitate her travel round Europe. But before that Meera travels round India and observes her country's richness as well as its ills due to the disparity between the minority rich and the majority poor who are ruled by blind faith and religion. She then decides to study, work and live in London where she enters into a ruinous relationship with a man which takes her back to her childhood mishaps. She overcomes it with the help of a spiritual healer called Cathy who encourages her to write a book based on her experiences. She returns back to her homeland, reunites with her friends one of them called Ava who she considers to be her female soulmate. She finds love with Zara's son Raoul and is inspired to write her book and she feels she is fulfilling her true destiny in doing so.
The title of the book signifies the important part played by elements of nature as well as significant people Meera meets in her journey through life, both of which keep her buoyant.
