Went tonight for tea and it was amazing. Been before and never disappointed and tonight was no exception. I had the chicken sizzler with sweet chilli sauce with 1/2 rice and 1/2 chips, the chicken....beautiful and it was definitely sizzling! It was tender chicken, fluffy rice and homemade chips. Only downfall was I couldn't finished it!! There was also a burger ordered and a steak - no complaints at all from my husband and daughter. They had dessert - sticky toffee pudding WOW and a chocolate brownie - WOW....both demolished quickly. Beautiful homemade food, friendly service (nothing was any trouble) - spot on! Thank you

We visited for the first time today and loved it. We're always looking for dog friendly places to try. Staff were great and food was delicious, had to change our booking a couple of times and it was no problem. We'll be back ��

Was there for my Sunday lunch got a lamb dinner great value for money meat was cooked to perfection and veg was plentiful and very tasty also my partner had the pork dinner loved it would recommend.

Was down from Perth Scotland for couple days with my parents to beamish. Come across pub across. From we're staying had a few drinks on first night so welcoming and friendly that booked meal for 2nd night and had few drinks. Will definitely be back if down this way again.

Popped in a few weekends ago on the way to a family wedding, had a chicken sizzler and a steak food was delicious, as was the customer service, gentleman who was working went out of his way to assist us, will definitely be returning with the family well worth the drive out ��

Only been a couple of times but what a lovely friendly place and the food is wonderful. Will 200% be going back more regularly

Manager and Staff are definitely 1st class. No matter what time of the day we pop in after a walk the atmosphere is always happy, warm and inviting. I'd recommend a visit to anyone who likes to relax.

Just popped across for a roast as we’re staying at the hotel across the road. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was fab. Proper homemade food and the lamb and beef were cooked to perfection. Thanks :-)

I booked a table for myself and my partner in the snug area as i brought my 2 french bulldogs in with us and was overjoyed they could accompany us while we ate . The staff made a fuss of them and gave them a treat each and took out orders.. The price was amazing for what we had, very big portions and delicious food. We were seen to very quickly and each course came at very good timing ...will be back!

Had afternoon tea with gin testing and it was delicious. Sunday lunch is amazing too. Beautiful venue and grounds � so impressed I am going look at staying over next time �

Fantastic Sunday lunch, portions are huge and staff are really friendly. Even the mint sauce was homemade, on a cold day lovely to sit in front of the fire! Will return

Staff where friendly. My husband had sirloin steak cooked medium and really enjoy but unfortunately I had rump which is my fav cut and was disappointed as it was on the tough side but staff where very nice offering me something else. Will go back though as good atmosphere and nice decor

My family and I visited here tonight for my Mams birthday. I've always been here and have always loved it although tonight was a big disappointment. Firstly finding out on a Tuesday night after their "busy day" there was no salad or steak pie. Starters were average and mains were worse. Our eggs had been to the crematorium before being placed on our gammon steak and the chips were very soggy. Service was very very slow and it took well over 5 minuets for 5 meals to come out. The place was just about empty and will probably stay that way unless the standard and quality of food and service changes...dramatically. Normally when I leave I can't wait to return but tonight unfortunately I wont be rushing back.
