HAMPSHIRE, GUNPOWDER NAVY STRENGTH GIN Our Navy Strength gin distilled with juniper, sea buckthorn, orange and the highest quality gunpowder tea sourced from a tea blender in Winchester. Bottling at 57% ABV (as required by British Navy law) allows the concentration of oils, extracted from the botanicals during distillation, to be raised significant- ly higher than a standard 40% gin giving a fuller flavour and silky mouth-feel.

Winchester Dry Gin combines 25 medieval herbs and spices that would have been found at the time of the legendary story of King Arthur and the round table. Feel the mighty "spirit" of the brave knights at The Cellar in Ringwood, on Wednesday 14 October 2018

THE DISTILLERY Winchester Distillery was set up by Paul Bowler in 2014; then distilling in his home kitchen with a 20 litre still. It was there that he created Twisted Nose Watercress Dry Gin, our flagship, using locally grown watercress and lavender. Today we are situated in Old Alresford, just outside of Winchester, and surrounded by the watercress beds that the area is so famed for. Our spirits are hand crafted in batches of just 250 bottles, with all bottling, labelling etc being done by hand. Paul, the master distiller, uses traditional methods and local botanicals from the surrounding landscapes to bring together the tastes of Winchester Distillery.

This is definitely our new favourite restaurant! We visited on Friday night and shared a platter between three of us, the staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable, it really added to our experience! Fantastic evening, great local cheeses and fabulous wine! Would definitely recommend and we will be back soon!! ���

The Cellar is a great place ... staff were friendly and accommodating, recommending cheeses for our pregnant friends and wine for our alcoholic ones! Only niggle was, We had a table that wasn’t under/near a fan so was very hot (even with door open) and could probably have done with a fork, but other than that, it was a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon!

Lovely atmosphere in here. This is a great addition for Ringwood. Very relaxed atmosphere and the platters are amazing. Choose your cheeses and your cold cuts, there’s hummus and lovely chutnies and great bread and biscuits. The wines are varied and mostly inexpensive comparatively. There’s a decent selection and you can eat and drink wine very heartily for under £50 if You choose the entry level wines. We love it here
