To provide international experience and language learning opportunities for all students and UK employability enhancement for non-EU students.

The University’s Centre for Global Engagement (CGE) is devoted to supporting students’ international experience and intercultural competence development. It offers a bespoke package of services to students, helping to broaden their horizons and enhance their studies. Students can:
• study abroad with one of our partner institutions, many of which teach in English;
• develop intercultural competence through Online International Learning projects which make use of digital tools to collaborate with peers at international partner universities;
• gain valuable work experience through work placements and internships abroad;
• join our global volunteering programme and get involved in volunteering opportunities across the world;
• learn a new language from scratch to a level that will get them along socially, or improve foreign language skills to a more advanced standard;
• learn about doing business internationally as part of their course and socialise with students from other parts of the world.
Students receiving the Academic Excellence Scholarship and high flying second year undergraduates can also take advantage of a unique extra-curricular opportunity designed to prepare students for global careers and enhance their leadership potential.
