Me and my husband visited last night for the first time. I was put of from some of the reviews on here but the food was amazing and quick service. We will definitely be back in the near future.

A Very friendly atmosphere in this creatively decorated and furnished Tardis, staff are really attentive and adapt for your needs. Quality cocktail barman with amass of knowledge who is very accommodating, will make anything at all oh and the food is great! A fab date night with Serena

Having made the mistake of not planning where to eat before going to the guildhall, we had been turned away by one place and didn’t hold much hope of finding anywhere decent to eat. However! We stumbled across the Chambers who willingly accommodated us at short notice, the staff were friendly and the food was great, Quirky decor and a fun vibe. Our reason for not giving a 5* is that we were overlooked on topping up of drinks and waiting for the bill. Other than that we cannot fault this lovely little place. Would definitely visit again!

Bit concerned at first, although welcomed nicely by who I took to the be the Proprietor, being served a first drink in the bar area was a bit difficult.The Barman was far more interested in showing off than serving the customers, however if all the bells and whistles of service are whats expected rather than the old fashioned Barmans soft skills of serving people in turn.....that's progress.

Who I took to be the senior Waitress eventually served me - but I am prity sure she left out the sugar from my Mojito.

Ok - bar moans out of the way (it was clear they were going through that peak time getting everyone sorted out pressure).

Our food and the service at table was great. Great fillet steaks and pepper sauce - classic but really, really well executed.

Small kitchen and sensibly small menu - again food was brilliant. I will say - again its a classic and not cutting edge, but the Onion Rings were the best i have ever had - cooked fresh onion and aerated and caramelised batter with a enough salt flakes - top cooking. Also - I had a Gruyere tartlet to start - well executed pastry, tasty and lush.

I really enjoyed the visit - loved the food - just seemed a bit disorganised momentarily at first drink time.

Arrived for sunday lunch and was seated straightaway by lovely waitress. Very considerate of my heavily pregnant belly and gave me advice where I may find it more comfortable to sit! Sadly the printer wasn't working so they couldn't offer a menu but their knowledge was more than enough and knew the menu inside out from top of their head. Beef for myself and lamb for my husband, it arrived around 30mins after ordering, slightly longer than I'd like to wait but it wasn't the end of the world, they were getting busier by the minute. The lunches came out with Yorkshire's ever so slightly on the cool side but not something that was offensive. The lunch was fab. My only suggestion is more cheese in the cauli cheese! The desserts were absolutely divine and the portion just right for how rich they were. All in all, really lovely. Will be back for lunch very soon! X

The food costs a lot of money but absolutely unprofessional staff working in the kitchen. Fish and lamb was fine. But risotto for this prize absolutely horrible . Just very little portion with test nothing like from instant bag . Also they gave us brownie from fridge. It was cold even frozen. How you can spoil brownie? I thought is impossible but it is possible. Food been changed immediately when we asked but anyway for this kind of restaurant should be more professional staff work in the kitchen.

After being excited to go here for quite some time ended up rather disappointed. Booked a table online for my partners birthday, after realising a confirmation hadn't come through I phoned to check only to be told the booking had been missed, luckily enough I was able to book us a table. Table was booked for 8pm but were told we had to wait in the bar before being seated. We requested a cocktail menu and ordered two but mine was forgotten and after 15mins passed we had to request it. We were finally taken to our table after 20.30 (starving hungry!) The gentleman seeing us in even joked as to whether we wanted the breakfast menu! On looking at the menu it was reduced from the online one and basically for mains was just a choice of steak or burgers, would have been nice to be informed of this before arriving as the menu was my main reason for selecting this restaurant. Starters came out, we were then waiting for our mains for another 40mins only to be told they had given them to the wrong table. When they did come food was OK but very salty and nothing special considering the price! Our desserts were given free of charge to apologise for the wait we had experienced which was appreciated but still didn't really compensate for the whole experience being a bit of a shambles! Don't think I will be returning �

Went here when it first opened and it was pretty good. Over the years it his slipped further and further downhill. Sunday’s experience put the final nail in the coffin for me, it was like a Laurel and Hardy sketch! I was left wondering if it was every staff members first day in a restaurant. Every possible mistake was made, the food was either cold or severely over cooked and the customer service was appalling. To top everything off there was a whopping bill, full of extra charges, for a meal that was sub par to the Harvester.



With the amount of awesome restaurants in town, I definitely won’t be coming back again.

The worst and the second worst steak ive ever had, first steak came out and it was so over cooked and what i would imagine it would be like to chew on a piece of car tyre, second steak not quite as cooked and not quite as car tyre like but absolutely covered in pepper, i was offered a third steak but declined as everyone else had finished with their meals, the manageress was very apologetic and obviously i didnt have to pay for my meal, would not choose to go back, as the last visit i was there my brother in law had the worst fillet steak we have seen and the other meals were ok nothing special atall, the chef should hang his head in shame and then walk off to be retrained

I have been to the chambers often over the years however have found that the service and quality of food has deteriorated over this time. I did however give it another go for my birthday meal on the 29/3/2018 as I had seen many comments from the restaurant on Facebook around quality of service and how important it was to them etc. However unfortunately I was very disappointed. Pre dinner drinks took at least 30 minutes to arrive. Only one barman and one person serving food on that evening. The barman was serving walk in customers in between completing our drinks order. One drink was not served in the correct style glass which did not give a great impression bearing in mind they charge over £10 for a gin drink!

Our meal was what I would consider to be “ok” for the price. What we were however staggered by was that even though it was clear we ordered all items included on the set menu we were charged the full price for each item. This mistake is I feel unforgivable as the staff would certainly know the set menu items (and which are also identified on the menu) This was rectified after highlighting their error.

if you do choose the items on the set menu please ensure you check your bill.

Sadly as a result of the above I will not be returning to this restaurant.

We pre ordered a week in advance for my sister's graduation. The mains didnt come together and the first ones which came where cold. The restaurant wasnt busy and we could hear others where in the same boat. If you have graduation booking here I'd advise you to cancel and book elsewhere.
