Calling all green fingers!
We are excited to be launching the ‘Chequers Gardening Club’, a collaboration project to convert the walled garden into a fully functioning kitchen garden, producing seasonal fruit and veg for the pub kitchen.
The basic structure is in place, but some vision is required!
... We are looking to transform the existing site into a productive plot with seasonal fruit and vegetables. Along the way we will organise garden specialists to provide advice and tutorials, as well as family events including hands-on demos and an annual ‘Growers Dinner’
At this stage we are looking for volunteers to assist clearing and preparing the site. Given the current condition, it is only appropriate (and safe) for adults/teenagers, but once the site is cleared, it will be open to a wider group. Our friends in the village, Carol and Clive, will be co-ordinating things and ensuring appropriate social distancing. If you’re interested, please contact Clive on clivestott@aol.com

Replacing the fires was not part of our original refurb budget, but on discovering that none of the existing ones were fit for purpose, we knew they had to be sorted.
