The Cheviot Hotel

What a fantastic place to stay. Staff are so friendly. Our rooms were beautiful with everything we could wish for. Restaurant food was delicious and the breakfast was just the best!! Thank you so much for your hospitality. Highly recommended.

A friendly welcome and a great selection of beers. Live band on at 4pm on a Sunday on my visit were excellent and not too loud.

First visit to pub today, i had the hunters chicken which was lovely and my husband had the American burger, also very good. Wanted to try the sticky toffee pudding but we couldn't fit it in! The service was good and will definitely be back.

This was our last town stay on the Pennine Way and we were spoiled.

Our room was magnificent, clean, and spacious. The hotel food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. They even provide a dry closet for wet boots and clothes, which was helpful for us.

Very disappointed. Food was lovely. Service friendly. However half way through dessert we discovered that the apple pie was frozen so could not be eaten. When we pointed this out we discovered from another customer that this had happened earlier in the evening too. When the bill arrived we had been charged for the dessert. When we queried this we were told that as it had been half eaten we would have to pay half of the cost of pie. No apology was forthcoming. Sadly as a result of the poor customer service from the manager we would not recommend this hotel.

Only popped in for a quick drink so didn't get to take much in but the staff were really friendly and helpful. It also seems to be a really nice establishment.

Amazing food, professional staff and the best pub in Northumberland!!!!

Had a family meal here, very friendly staff and accommodating with our two young boys. Food served quickly and accurately with nice presentation. Chips in particular were excellent and the sticky toffee pudding is well worth it even if you are full. They were kind enough to let us split a children's meal between 2, not everywhere is honest enough to say how big the portion is and do that. Ours are aged 2 & 4, the meal would have fed a 12yo.

Excellent food and great service.

The background music was fun and didn't take over the conversation.

Really recommend the special that was on today, Sicky Toffee Pudding Dome.

A very good selection of ales.
