Such a beautiful message sent to me today regarding our Mother’s Day meal.
Hi Michaela.
I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone at the Church yesterday for a wonderful Mothers Day Lunch (table booked at 5pm in the name of Green).
... The food was just amazing – faultless. Massive compliments to the Chef’s. Some of the best food I have tasted in Northampton for a considerably long time. I am quite a fussy eater and the team were very accommodating (we asked for the fishcakes not to be fried) and for no butter in the vegetables.
Fish cakes were awesome – please do not take these off the Menu!
Your roast potatoes are to die for and I thought the Roast Pork was a generous portion and good value for money.
Also, I ordered a pudding which you had run out of which was not a problem. However, I was aware that we were probably the last in the restaurant. Your Chef’s very kindly rustled up the Apple Tart Tatin and had to put the ovens back on which was just fantastic. You could have declined as this was the end of the shift. It was a superb pudding and I am glad the chocolate genoise had run out!!
The service from beginning to end was superb also – a very friendly team/attention to detail/knowledge. This is refreshing to see and does not happen that often in Northampton. I used to run a Sports Club with my father and was also Head of Service at Overstone Golf Club for 2 years so I know how hard the industry is and to get good staff. You have certainly got the right balance.
One thing I would say is that it may be good to get a fish main course on the Sunday lunch menu?
I always think it is good to get positive feedback and I will be highly recommending the Church to my friends and look forward to our next visit this coming Saturday night.

Wonderful staff. Possibly the best waiting team I have experienced out for a long time. Couldn't ask for a more warm welcoming and friendly service. Brilliant help with all fussy eating requirements and options for the vegans and children among us. Nice food and an extremely thoughtful and appreciated birthday surprise at the end of the meal. Definitely recommend it :-)

What a fantastic afternoon, food tasting for our wedding breakfast menu, nothing was too much for Jordan and Vicky to do for us, a food experience I will never forget, and with such delicious food, thankyou to the chef too, so looking forward to our big day x

We had our Valentine’s Day dinner here it was perfect. While we were waiting at the bar for our table Victoria, a waitress, served us drinks and also was our waitress for dinner. It was great service as we didn’t have to wait long between courses and Victoria was often checking everything was okay with the meal and checking we if needed anything. The food was great as it was there Valentine Day menu and we could alter it if needed. Good value for money for what you get.

We had a such a wonderful time. The food was amazing, the place is stunning and the waitress was brilliant. At the end she realised it was my birthday and ran into the kitchen and had them make me up a desert with happy birthday written on it. It was the perfect finishing touch of a great day. Cannot wait to go back!!!!!

This was the venue chosen by my friend for her wedding meal. The decor was fantastic and the food faultless. Despite having 80+ guest to serve the food arrived hot and beautifully presented. So today we were the first to sample the Afternoon Tea on the new menu. It was my Daughters birthday and just a week after she had given birth to her second child, so this was just the perfect thing for her ���

The ambience is quite unique. With the many candles flickering, it really gives the venue quite a unique feeling. It’s warm and cosy.



The food is superb and is priced fair.



Had a lovely meal there today, and came away feeling content. Service was excellent and the building is maintained to a very high standard.



If you’ve never been, do give it a try. If you’ve been before, do revisit. I believe a new menu is soon to be released...

I was impressed with the vegan choices on the menu. What I had was delicious. But I was told by our lovely waitress that if I had asked beforehand I could of had a range of menus sent to me to choose from... well I will just have to do that, hopefully soon, and return.

I took my wife to the church restaurant for our silver wedding anniversary. She expected a meal for two, but we had the whole family at the restaurant for when we arrived.



The staff were amazing, you never felt rushed, or that you were having to wait .... the food was fantastic, everyone managed to find something they looked on the menu ... All in all an amazing night made special by the staff of a beautiful venue

I booked a table for a surprise 30th birthday meal for my husband. The management were really helpful in the lead up to the meal with regards to organising a set menu for our party and liaising with me about the finer details for the night. We were really impressed by both the service and food on the night.... as always a great experience!

Had our wedding here on the 14th April and cannot thank and praise Katie and her team enough from the organisation of the day to their service for us and our guests. Our wedding breakfast was excellent with lots of comments from our guests on the quality of the beef and the champagne sorbet had a lot of positive mentions ( some trying to blame this for their sore heads next day lol ) overall could not of enjoyed our day any more so thank you all Kathy & Graham Smith

Had my work's Christmas Party here on 20 Dec. Past experiences at other venues have all been disappointing on the food but The Church Restaurant was amazing!! The three course meal was fantastic, the staff were friendly and professional, the atmosphere was festive and fun. A great night all round!!

Fantastic food, fantastic service and a lovely atmosphere. Loved the decor, especially the Christmas tree/lights! Great varied menu choice for my partner and I who are both gluten intolerant. Sticky toffee pudding to die for!! Will definitely be back when we are next in Northampton!

Everything about our wedding day was perfect. The sign outside The Church when everyone arrived was a lovely, unexpected surprise and a thoughtful touch. The staff on the day worked exceptionally hard all day to ensure that everything ran smoothly and to the timings that we’d planned. We met with Suzy, the manager, before the day to go through the running order and confirm everything. At 9pm on the evening before the wedding we realised that we had a starter that our pregnant guests wouldn’t be able to eat and I emailed Suzy who gave me several options about what they could do. We were so grateful for this, particularly at such short notice. On the day of the wedding, Suzy was always on hand for both us to ensure that we were happy and having the best day. Several of our guests commented on how smoothly the day went and how friendly and helpful Suzy and the rest of the staff were. We had our ceremony and reception at The Church, therefore the staff had to set the room up for the ceremony, for the wedding breakfast and then for the evening. Each time, the room looked beautiful and exactly how we’d planned it, without us having to explain on the day where we’d like things to be. We had been to taste our wedding menu twice and had brilliant service both times. The food on the day of the wedding was delicious and so many of our guests have said to us since that the food was amazing. It came out of the kitchen quickly and all 100 of our guests ate at the same time. The waiters and waitresses were efficient and professional. The room was turned around quickly after we had eaten in time for when our evening guests arrived. Our day ran so smoothly that the only thing to worry about as a bride was making sure that I didn’t fall down the stairs! Although The Church doesn’t have much outside space, the backdrop of the building makes a stunning setting for photographs. We can’t thank Suzy and her staff at The Church enough for making our wedding so special and a fun, relaxed and wonderful day.

Came her for my birthday meal with the hubby,been before as a couple and always found the food and service excellent. Our waitress thus time was super attentive and made ys feel very welcome x

Been a few times. Nice atmosphere, very nice staff and food lovely.

Lovely food, good quality stuff, service very slow (we were the only diners!) but staff pleasant. Amazing interiors - probably more of an evening venue (we came here for lunch), you can see it is a very atmospheric looking place for food and wine.

The food is very overpriced for what it is. It was very average food, nothing special. The bread was stale, the stew was not fresh and was stodgy, the curry and the deserts were ok. The only 2 good things were the service and the hygiene. The young lady who served us was very friendly and helpful and the place was spotlessly clean.

I wanted to have my wedding here but the lack of communication from the team was appalling. Got fed up of not getting responses to my emails so have decided to go elsewhere. Such a shame.

We ate here yesterday and I was very disappointed! I’ve have some lovely meals here before for last night was awful! All the staff were very young and didn’t seem to know what was going on. We weren’t offer a drink and my main was under cooked my boyfriends was over cooked and the treacle sponge was microwaved, dry and completely black and burnt in the middle. We definitely will not be going back here again. Over priced and not enjoyable

Unbelievable! I have turned up for my confirmed reservation at 6:30pm on Valentines night, (as per attached email confirmation) to be greeted by the rudest Duty Manager ever, and told that although I have a confirmed email, that they have been trying to get hold of me as they required a deposit! Some excuse of the ringtone was weird on my phone and therefore they have cancelled the table! Where exactly am I now supposed to find a table on Valentines night? Your excuse is absolutely fabricated and you have effectively overbooked - just as hotels and airlines do to ensure maximum capacity/utilisation ... the complete fabrication about calling me is incredible! How about emailing me if there was an issue? The fact that the General Manager was unprepared to face the obvious issues (as per the customer in front of us) shows the lack of sincerity and credibility of this restaurant ... absolute disgusting service and a ruined Valentines night - thanks!
