Wonderful birthday meal great night great food and drink

User

What a nice place. Great/convenient location. Quirky mix of old and new interior, great coffee! Friendly staff and clean toilets- what more could you want? I will definitely be back

Thank you

User

We had my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary meal at The Coach and Horses last night. They managed to cater for 24 of us and as always the food and service were superb. The excellent kitchen and restaurant staff are a real credit to the pub - extremely friendly, helpful and nothing is too much for them. The surprise dessert board for my parents was a lovely touch and really topped off a fantastic night. I can't thank you all enough for making my parents night a most fantastic and memorable occasion.

User

The bar area is comfortable and the bar staff very accommodating.

We booked table at last minute for a relative's celebration, the waiting staff were friendly and efficient.

In our party of twelve we had ....some would say fussy eaters with certain dietary requirements.

Kitchen were accomodating and the waiting staff gave the impression we weren't causing bother in asking.

The waiting and general staff are of the younger generation but if a question was asked and that person didn't know the answer they would ask a member of staff of senior position, this was done with efficiency and politeness.

This is by no means fine dining but what you will receive is good pub food without all dishes " with chips".

Our experience was pleasant and hope to visit again soon.

User

So this was a return visit as our 1st was not what we would of liked but they was quick to sort it out and our return was brilliant .... food was amazing dept Mannger Toni and our waitress Becky was lovely both was so helpful and caring manner and all could not do enough for us .... I’m so happy we will be returning with the hole family x five stars ***A

User

Lovely pub and restaurant with a great atmosphere and great staff. Was very impressed by the selection of gins behind the bar and the knowledge of the bar staff. Had one of their homemade burgers which was amazing! Will definitely be back

User

Just got back from an amazing evening ... The food was to die for , it was both cooked and presented beautifully (seriously the chef knows how to make a mean curry) .... gorgeous setting and the most lovely management and waiting staff , can't wait to come back 10/10

User

It was our 1st visit to the Coach & Horses. Food was great, service was good. Did not have to wait long for food, it was well presented. Definitely going to return and recommend to family & friends.

User

Good range of ales, good choice of food and friendly staff - what's not to like!

User

Fantastic night at the Coach last night to celebrate a birthday. Can not fault the tasty food or the efficient service and not one person out if the 16 of us had a bad word to say about anything!

Would highly recommend the Coach and Horses

User

Cannot fault the service, the food or the time taken to accomodate a party of 24 of us. Not one person amongst us had a bad word to say, and the food was out and on our tables fast and efficiently. And the tastes were amazing.

Staff were attentive, polite and very professional. Well worth the money spent and a bit more too.

Highly recommend this place.

User

Came in on Saturday with my partner. Normally he's a nightmare being gluten free but the waiter seemed to know everything about it and was really understanding. my other half ended up having a burger with reportedly a very nice bun, he must have enjoyed the chips too as he ended up eating most of mine then again the 12oz steak beat me. All in all the food, drinks and atmosphere are fantastic. Will be bringing the family next time.

User

As the football was on and we have no interest in it we decided to have a meal there

The food was amazing(I had lamb rump.to die for)The staff were very attentive(maybe because everyone else was in the bar watching the match lol).It was the best meal and service we have ever hadfor a long time.

thanks guys for a excellent night.we will be back.Denise and Bob.

User

After living in Leicester for over 30 years we had passed this pub frequently traveling back north, this Sunday we decided to try the Sunday lunch and needless to say we will be back. A nice bright pub with really friendly staff and fantastic food as well. Lovely place

User

We booked a table for family meal on Sunday, 13 of us in total.

Food came out warm but definitely not hot, the children’s meals on rather hot plates, not ideal for a 2 yo. When asking where the beans were for kids meals I was told it doesn’t come with any, it clearly states on the menu it does.

There was not enough vegetables or gravy to go round, they did bring more on request but it still not enough.

For the price paid the meal it wasn’t up to standard, the staff were efficient but did what the job was nothing more.

I won’t be rushing back, which is a shame as it’s a nice place and used to be great.

User

Managed to get a last minute booking for ten people on my birthday. Lovely setting, great food and nice and warm even though it was freezing outside. Great set up for kids, with a room of toys and games. Only issue we had was with the slow service - 20 minutes to take our drinks order then she refused to take our food order at the same time, even though we were all ready (luckily, as it wasn't busy, our food did arrive very quickly but pretty much the same time as our drinks!) We thought her attitude was a bit off which is a shame as it was all amazing last time we went.

User

Service awful no ice for drinks on a warm evening. Ordered medium rare steak and salad got well done steak had to ask totally disinterested male waiter twice eventually replaced with a near medium rare steak which was nice but with fat chips when asked for salad! 3 steak dishes ordered flat iron steak asked for medium was rare another sirloin ordered medium rare was well done. Waiter totally uninterested one asked for thin chips instead of fat chips got both and we were charged for both. I would avoid as second bad meal I had there this year

User

Second visit first time was great this time not so good, booked for a birthday meal on new year's eve afternoon staff wanted to put us in the bar not the restaurant one of the meals was incomplete but not informed until it arrived and we asked, gammon steak was so salty had to get a jug of water to wash the taste away.

Don't think there will third time.

User

Food was average but not what we expected. Steaks are advertised as locally reared but waitress informed us that the chef sources them from Derbyshire, not exactly what I’d call local!! Ordered a lamb steak but was in fact a lamb chop by the bone that came with it!! Both steaks were lukewarm and not cooked as asked for. Sirloin asked for medium - well came out medium - rare and lamb steak asked for medium came out very pink. For the price charged we won’t be returning.
