The Coarse Project

The Coarse Project is the freshwater side line for "The Art of Fishing" based in Wadebridge, Cornwall.

My name is Ben Field and I run a tackle shop in Cornwall. While the company and shop itself is widely known as "The Art of Fishing", this is my little side project - "The Coarse Project". It is what it sounds like.

As well as being a keen lure angler, my background is mostly within coarse and match fishing. Although I don't really match fish these days, I still take my fishing pretty seriously. Having done so much match fishing in the past, you don't lose the want or need to refine everything and catch as many fish as possible on any given day.

I always enjoyed fishing silver fish matches or venues. As a result, this is the way that am now drawn for my pleasure sessions. Roach, Bream, Tench and Perch always take my fancy, and this page and the upcoming shop website are very silver fish orientated.

Although it may not always be clear, the fact that I run a tackle shop means that I'm in the enviable position of being able to sell all of the tackle that I use. If you need or want anything, just ask!
