What a fantastic pub food was lovely staff are really friendly. We came today for my wife’s birthday and will definitely be returning in June for our wedding anniversary. We loved it

We had a great meal here last night with our car club. We were a very big group but the quality of the food was excellent as was the service! Thank you for looking after us all so well.

We enjoyed a spontaneous lunch here and it was lovely treat!



Warm and friendly greeting on arrival. Clean and warm by the open fire. Fabulous gin and tonic served with aplomb and elegance. Delicious hot soup- especially the lobster soup & garlic bread.



All in all a very very nice lunch! We hope to visit again soon.

We booked a table Saturday evening for Sunday at 2:15 and thought we would struggle but the staff accommodated us very easy, we was greeted well and shown our lovely table in the middle room next to the bar it was perfect for our family gathering it couldn’t have been better, on ordering our drinks at the bar we had a nice welcome greeting and a very professional service with particular attention to detail on the glass cleanliness... always a great start the drinks and service couldn’t have been better if I’m honest, food was ordered and again couldn’t have gone any smoother, when the food arrived everyone enjoyed there starters and the main was to die for and I’m very much into my steaks ! So all in all very above average service and amazing food so well to to all the staff we will be visiting again very soon and thank you all 👌🏻

This is my second time here and I can honestly say that on both occasions everything has been top class. It's set in beautiful surroundings.The food was exceptional,the staff are very polite and professional also nothing was to much trouble. I like that they have a great selection of gins to. We will definitely return.

The food was delicious, good portion size and accommodating for a sauce not on the menu.

Welcomed and the lady looking after our group introduced herself and was with us all evening for anything we wanted. She was polite, helpful and courteous- checking everyone had finished eating before removing plates. A large group of us but managed excellently, even had a birthday surprise given to me. The building too is lovely- I need to visit in summer when I am sure it will be just as good with outside area being used

Me and my other half hadn’t been out together for a year after having our second baby.. when we finally convinced my parents to look after our 2 year old and 1 year old we wanted to go somewhere special! And we couldnt have chosen better. The service was incredible, the atmosphere was lovely. And

The food was fabulous.

Such an amazing selection of gin.

We loved it. We will be returning again very soon ���

Had a rare date night with Hubster last night and we managed at short notice to book a table and I’m so glad we did, a Tuesday night and every table was booked !! Food was just amazing, service from all staff is just brilliant and they are very attentive without being obtrusive. The building and setting is just beautiful. Highly recommended and we will be back. Thank you Cock Inn.

Excellent Sunday lunch today and really great service from our waitress, nothing was too much trouble! Her name might have been Ellie? There was 8 in our party and everyone cleared their plates, great afternoon!

Amazing gastro pub. Good car park. Garden entrance was a warm welcome. Bar staff very attentive and good to see cleaning the glasses before pouring your drink. Great service from waiting staff. Great decor. Great food. Fabulously great. We will be back very soon. Well done ��

First time here and it was good. We were seated close to the bar which was slightly annoying as people that were stood at the bar kept knocking into us. The food was lovely but the meat main courses for adults had two slices of meat, the same as a child's dinner? Another slice for adults would have been nice.

The monkfish curry was lovely as were all the starters.

Came back because the first time food was amazing unfortunately all three of steaks were not medium and so dry, my little boy was too hungry to be bothered but two of us ended taking ours home for the dogs, oh well at least the dogs will be happy.... cocktail amazing, and the place is still lovely especially the view from upstairs

Examples;

•seating outside so expect the odd empty glass but it wasn’t cleared until asked (even after staff had been to the table)

•food came and we ask for cutlery only to be told, ‘you eat that with your fingers’ (I think that’s my choice isn’t it? �)

•table had food on it from previous guests, again not wiped and cleaned until asked (even though staff had been to the table with starters and seen it)

•had drinks but asked at the outside bar for a glass of water (to have with dinner) he said they didn’t have it there but would get someone to bring it from the main bar- never came

Etc....

Will go again, will eat there again, but hope the staff are trained up a bit so service improves �

Booked a table in the restaurant for Saturday 13 Jan, a table of 7 for my sons 19 Birthday. Both my son and I had previously been there on separate occasions and had loved it.



Unfortunately we were given a table at the very back end of the BAR and right next to a table of adults swearing...... we had a young 7 and 12 year old with us in our group!!!



Not only was half the seating uncomfortable to enjoy our food but I was really disappointed not to be sat in the restaurant I thought I’d booked!!! At no point when I made the reservation was I told this was the only option otherwise I’d have tried somewhere else.



It was a special occasion, not just a standard dinner out with family. To be put in a corner of the pub with a table of swearing adults to one side and a dog on the other just wasn’t what I’d pictured to celebrate with my son and our family.



Food, as always was lush and staff were very attentive but to receive the same menus and pay the same price as the restaurant but be sat in a bar was very disappointing!!



It will be a while before I return now or I’ll at least make sure I ask where I’m being sat!!!

10yr Anniversary dinner . We arrived 15 mins late 7pm (called to let know) we were told twice we had to vacate table by 20.30. Food and menu was great but let down by conveyer belt service and arms reach next table space.
