We Been last night had a lovely meal food was really nice we had three course meal service was good to all staff been really good thank you

User

Really lovely pub. Came here for an early dinner as we were staying at The Belfry down the road, and there isn’t much in the way of child-friendly eating options. Even though it was quiet there was a really nice atmosphere, and the staff were great with our 3 year old. If you’re staying at The Belfry then definitely come down to the road to this gem of a pub for dinner. We had the grazing platter which was delicious, but all the main courses looked great too.

Popped in for the first time Sunday, only came in for a drink but ended up staying for food. Lovely pub, great atmosphere, welcoming staff and the best food I've had in ages. Clean, Professional and a massive gin collection!! Will be visiting often.

Our waiter James was very helpful Saturday night. Restaurant was packed but our food was still promptly served. He also helped me with my food choice, after I showed an interest in the venison, he advised how it should be cooked! Very helpful

Myself and my fiancée come here quite regularly for lunch or a nice afternoon drink. Today we came following a wedding planning meeting to go through some more things.

As usual we ordered our food and a gentleman came over and gave us our cutlery. He then took great interest in what we were getting up too to which we had a lovely conversation.

Our food was served promptly and was delicious as always.

I can not recommend this pub/restaurant enough and a special thank you to the gentleman who served us today.

User

Meal out with friends on a Tuesday night. Cannot fault anything. Service was friendly, restaurant decor is very tasteful, well stocked bar and best of all every single mouthful of food was delicious. Can’t wait to return 😊

User

Had lunch on Tuesday 10th April and it was yummy. Hubby can recommend the burger meal with added chorizo whereas I can highly recommend the gammon and eggs. Lovely meal, pleasant welcoming staff and nice relaxing atmosphere. Tops marks

User

We were just passing through this little village when we stumbled across this pub so decided to drop in for a bit of lunch. After acquiring a drink at the bar for my wife and myself we were asked if we wanted a table and shown to a table by the window. A very pleasant waitress gave us a menu to browse and left us to it. After 5 minutes or so she returned with a pleasant smile and asked us if we wanted anything from the menu so we ordered and away she went. Returning just at the right time with our food she asked if wanted another drink and trotted off to the bar to replenish our glasses again with a pleasant smile. A lovely lunch we had and service with a smile, a hasty return to this establishment I do foresee. Thank you.

We came without booking and were shown to a table ... a young girl who was on her first shift was lovely and did really well.

Our starter came quite quickly and was lovely staff were very attentive

I chose fillet steak for main and when it arrived it looked cremated and unlike a steak... it soon became aware it was very tough . I called one of the girls who immediately said I will get it changed for you and offered a snack while waiting.

The second fillet was beautiful

It was a very busy night yet seemed to be running very smoothly

Staff very friendly and very approachable

Really nice place, good menu. Been there a few times and will more and likely will go again in the future.

It was a lovely sunny, warm day. We would have liked to sit outside but the were hundreds of tiny black flies. Not that it was the restaurants fault.

We chose our mains and they were delicious. The service was a little slow but we didn’t mind as we were chatting with friends. There was quite a wait for dessert once we ordered but again it wasn’t a problem. The staff were friendly and obliging. Would go again.

User

A very nice clean and laid out pub/restaurant, good food and drinks of all sorts, plenty of car parking available in a country side setting out off the way of the hustle and bustle of modern day life

User

Visited Sunday, food was average. I feel this is turning more into a steakhouse than what it used to be my previous visits and it wasn’t even particularly full in the restaurant, yet there were still empty glasses and plates left from previous customers that hadn’t been collected on many of the tables. We had finished our meal and it was at least 20 minutes before anyone bothered to clear our plates.

We are regulars that go most weekends there are a few regular staff left including jack behind the bar who is very intentive and goes the extra mile to make our visit enjoyable .

Women’s toilets have improved so that’s a thumbs up.

I visited the establishment with a friend this afternoon, for lunch. The pub is in a nice location, it's comfortable and cozy. The staff were very nice and helpful and quick to serve. Food was served in a timely manner. HOWEVER. My friend ordered scallops, which were supposed to be served with red pepper and chorizo. The chorizo was non existent, although the dish was still nice, as was my starter of lobster and king prawn pot. Delicious. As mains we both had the chicken, bacon and avocado salad, with English cider, mustard and honey dressing. The dressing was non existent, instead the salad was pretty much swimming in olive oil with some mustard seeds to be seen, but NONE of the flavour. I couldn't finish it. I literally couldn't stomach that much fat. Why would someone drench fried bacon and avocado in oil is beyond me. The promised dressing suggested a fresh, tangy salad. What I got was slimy and gross. The extra virgin olive oil overpowered everything. I was asked if I wanted to send it back, I will give the staff some credit, but I hate waste so I didn't. I had suggested adding some fresh flavours to it but was told they use a cook book and go by that so the second salad would have probably been the same, but with the awful "dressing" on the side. For desert my friend had the Dulche de Leche fondant which she tells me was very nice, I had the chocolate and orange bomb, which again was lovely, but I didn't get the flavour of orange which i presume was supposed to be in the ganache, at all. Overall it seems like the menu promises big flavours it doesn't deliver. The afternoon was saved by the atmosphere and the lovely staff.

The other half booked for valentines day, he was told there would be a free glass of wine and a rose ... neither appeared, we were given the normal menu not the valentines one. Staff were polite sadly ones hair wasnt tied back suitably and walked round looking to be honest like she would rather have been else where. Food was just ok nothing spectacular given we had the incorrect menu. Wont be back anytime soon for any event

User

Last 3 times I’ve been I’ve had to sent my steak back as very undercooked, complained to manager last time no reply. Mum and Dad went last night for a valentines dinner and his steak was very undercooked. Great shame as lovely place and atmosphere, but bad food just puts you off

User

5 of us went for Sunday lunch on my recommendation as it used to be a regular haunt when living in the area. We all had various Sunday roasts. The food after a 20 minute wait, arrived cold, very little vegetables & the Yorkshire puddings were soggy, not a crispy edge in sight. Two of us asked for extra gravy, never arrived. Service was poor with a feeling of ‘I don’t really want to be here’. Such a shame

User

I’m very sorry but me and my family came the other day and I weren’t to impressed because we were booked in for 3.15 and didn’t even get our starters until nearly 4.30 and then we got our mains and 2 of us didn’t get our dinners until the others had nearly finished and 2 or 3 people asked us why we were still waiting and eventually they come and we asked for a round of drinks and we waited nearly an hour for that round and then at 6.15 we were deciding on desserts and there was one that most people wanted and they had none left of that one but I was like we’ve been here 3 hours and were only just about to get desserts but in all fairness we did have some money knocked off our bill but I’m ever so sorry to say i won’t be coming back
