The Commercial Inn

The Commercial Inn is a traditional community pub where you are guaranteed good beer and great company. We serve a large range of cask ale, wine and spirits and benefit from a log fire in winter, and air conditioning in the summer.

The pub serves a variety of cask ale, lager, wine and spirits in a comfortable lounge with a log fire, has a games room for darts and pool, and a separate dining room where customers can enjoy freshly prepared meals. Major sporting events are shown on the large screens in the bar, and there is often live music on Saturday nights. It also benefits from a newly refurbished upstairs function room with disabled access.

History
The Commercial Inn has been a licensed premises since 1839 when James Collier was granted a licence for an alehouse on Cowbrook Meadow. It was later taken over by his daughter Lydia and son William, who brewed his own beer for sale in the bar. It remained in the family for many years, until taken over by Chesters brewery in 1872. It has been a place popular with locals and visitors to eat and drink for well over a century, and remains so to this day.
