Where do I begin about this amazing place!! We turned up at the compasses just over a year ago looking for our dream wedding venue and fell in love straight away. It's a beautiful setting, relaxed and tailored to every need to ensure that the special day is just perfect. To the team...you are all fantastic!!! Always on hand to help with anything, nothing was to much trouble but to Paul in particular your hospitality and passion for what you do stands out a mile. Not only did we feel this but our guests also commented too. You are welcoming, kind, easy to get on with....the list could go on, It felt like you became a friend and the compasses was our home!! You made our day perfect and we had no doubt that it would be anything less. The food was also excellent and attention to detail all round was faultless. We wake up every morning wishing we could relive our wedding day, to do it all again and not change a single thing. Thankyou to all of you so much for everything and will be highly recommending what the Compasses at Pattiswick has to offer.

Well what a find, we searched high and low for the perfect wedding venue and none even came close to this beautiful venue. Rustic and elegant, this gorgeous venue caters for your dream wedding with the most stunning of backdrops. All the staff, from Claire ensuring your wedding admin is on point, Paul who makes sure the day runs without a hitch, to all the waiting and catering staff ensuring your guests remain well fed and watered throughout the day. All an absolute pleasure to work with and making you feel so so special. They have thought of everything and completely take over to ensure your focus is on nothing but having the best day of your life! Delicious food with such a variety of options, hog roast to pizza slices all delivered to such a high standard and the best stocked bar iv ever seen... anyone like gin!? thereās plenty to keep the party going! The bridal prep room was the perfect place to give those finishing touches and share a glass of bubbles. We canāt thank The Compasses Team enough for the most amazing day, it was everything we imagined and more... now we just canāt wait to see the photos and that beautiful spring sunset Mr & Mrs L xxx
We literally couldn't be happier with the way our wedding day turned out! From the planning right up until the day,Paul was fantastic!The staff at the compasses were welcoming and very helpful,we absolutely love this beautiful venue and our guests were also very complimentary of it. Our food was delicious and the guests all loved it ,Paul did a great job to make sure we was on schedule, we felt extremely comfortable putting our trust in him and we couldn't fault him. The compasses suited our simple vintage theme perfectly and we will be forever grateful to Paul and his amazing team for making our wedding day as special as it was ļæ½
We had the most incredible day at The Compasses for our wedding at the end of May, I can't praise highly enough the staff, venue and location. We were very lucky with the weather and had a beautiful sunny afternoon and evening. Paul, Jane and Claire could not have been more helpful, they did everything they could and more for us. Nothing was too much and they were always eager with suggestions. All our guests complimented us on the how beautiful the venue was, I'm so glad we found it and I would recommend it to anyone to make a perfect special occasion! Xx
We had our wedding at The Compasses on 26th April and we couldn't have wished for a better day.
From the moment we viewed the venue in January 2017, we knew we wanted to get married there and didnāt even go and see any other venues as we knew no where else would be able to compare. We met with Paul and said that we wanted quite an informal wedding with a BBQ for the wedding breakfast and a relaxed feel. Paul was able to offer lots of suggestions that we wouldn't have thought of and we knew it was going to be the perfect day.
Claire was great over email ā answering our many questions and finalising all of the details.
It was a real bonus that the Bridal Preparation Room was ready in time for our wedding. I arrived on morning of the wedding with my mum and bridesmaids and it was so nice to be there when everything was being set up etc. Sue looked after us; supplying coffee and prosecco and even making us a lunch platter from things that we had bought with us. Having the one way mirror in the door was great ā we loved watching guests arriving.
The wedding itself was perfect ā Paul led us through the day, made sure we had everything we needed, put lunch aside for us and so on. He even popped out to get more crackers for the cheese in the evening and a guest later informed us that he had also gone out to get her baby some food as she had been sleeping when the BBQ was served!
The food was amazing, everyone complimented it! All of the staff were discreet but helpful ā we loved it that one of the guys clearing glasses danced across the dance floor to tidy up, he was clearly having a good time too!
The Compasses couldnāt be a more beautiful venue ā it has a wonderful country pub feel to it and was everything we could have hoped for and more.
We want to thank the whole team for making our wedding so memorable ā we only hope we know someone who gets married there so we can return!!
We fell in love with The Compasses when we first visited at an open day about 18 months ago. We knew straight away that we wanted to have our wedding reception there. Meeting Jane sealed the deal and later dealing with Paul and Claire meant that planning our day went smoothly and dare I say stress free!
We were listened to and given great advice throughout the planning process and when the day came we couldn't have asked for a more magical, organised and relaxed day.
Nothing was too much bother and our every whim was catered for. Paul ran the day seamlessly and everyone commented on the professionalism and beauty of the setting at Pattiswick.

We cannot thank the brilliant team at The Compasses enough for helping to create a wonderful and unforgettable wedding day tailored to us. The whole day went perfectly and this was in no small part due to the efforts of Paul and the bar, kitchen and waiting staff. We were beyond impressed with the quality of the food (for the wedding breakfast, evening meal and hors d'oeuvres), the professionalism of the staff and the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that was present the whole day.
Nothing was too much trouble, and Paul made sure everything went smoothly without any input (or stress!) from us. From the start of planning to the last detail, everything was exactly how we had envisioned it, with every detail catered for and helpful suggestions provided along the way.
The Compasses helped us to craft our perfect wedding day and we wouldnāt hesitate to recommend them for any special occasion.

We had some particularly difficult circumstances surrounding our day with personal family matters, and they did everything they could to help and assist in making it all possible. We could go on and on but if you are looking for the best day of your life's, this is THE venue!! We would recommend The Compasses 100 times over and we're hoping we get invited back for a wedding so we can visit again and have some more of the chef's amazing creations! WOW! We saw this place online a year ago and visited then on their Open day, We didnt want your average wedding venue with a set package and As soon as we walked in we knew it was the one. The staff are amazing from Claire who answered all my annoying emails and questions to Paul who runs everything for you on the day and leading up, he is just amazing, nothing is too much trouble and we all got on like old friends. The day was perfect and we can't thank them enough, It's a stunning venue and I would recommend to anyone who wants a bespoke wedding xxxx
The most amazing venue with staff that surpassed our expectations......
My wife and I got engaged in June 2017 in Italy and on the way back I surprised her by booking to visit the compasses as a potential wedding venue.
We were blown away by the beauty and versatility of the venue but even more so by Paul and Claire who are the most professional, friendly and helpful coordinationās you could ever imagine.
Right from the first viewing, paul made us both feel very welcome and that nothing was beyond impossible. My wife and I are both hard working professionals who at times can be demanding and have high expectations but Paul made us both feel that whatever we needed or asked could be achieved with ease.
We asked a million questions, change, reviewed and edited what we wanted and visit the venue more times than you could ever have imagined but none of this was too much bother for Paul or Claire.
Our wedding day was flipping fantastic...... Yes, every guest with a role had their own itinerary including Paulās which was 4 pages long! We got there early both Paul and Claire were ready and waiting for our arrival. Paul gracefully co-ordinated the front of house and made us feel that we were in safe hands throughout our day.
During the day Paul āchecked inā to ensure that we were doing ok and made sure we had food and drink throughout the day. He was the calm hand on our shoulders without being intrusive and reassured us that our day would be as perfect as we wanted it to be....
I/we could go on and on and on about how good the venue and staff our but there are not enough words to do it justice. You will have to trust me when I say you wonāt need to look any further once you have visited the compasses.
To Paul, claire and the team..... We are truly indebted to you for creating the āmagicā we were searching for on our special day. Thank you so very much for all your hard work.

The moment we arrived at The Compasses we knew it was special and different to any other wedding venue.
The team here make you feel like you are the only couple in the world getting married. Instead of being given tick boxes to choose what āpackageā we wanted, The Compasses listened to our plans and helped us create a truly bespoke wedding, personal to us.
The whole team are incredible. Claire was always on hand in the months leading up to our wedding for all of the little questions that arose. Jane arranged the most beautiful wedding flowers for us. Paul went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect - even a burst water pipe on the morning of our wedding didnāt phase him! He made sure our day was everything we dreamed of.
Our guests all commented on how friendly the staff were and the delicious food - the canapƩs were amazing!
We cannot thank all of the team enough and are so happy we found The Compasses for our wedding.
Thank you to the amazing team at The Compasses for throwing us an awesome wedding reception! Unlike other venues, they let us completely tailor our day to our tastes and were very receptive to creative ideas. Our reception was very bespoke which they had no problem with, which set them far above other venues. They created a very select menu and worked with us until we were happy with all the choices. They took care of everything which made our day stress free which is a huge bonus! We had such a lovely day and had many comments from our guests about what a lovely venue we had chosen. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful so if you get a nice weather day you're bound to get some amazing photos too!

Nothing but brilliant things to say about this gem of a venue. We held a surprise wedding here on NYE and I honestly donāt think we would have got the same atmosphere anywhere else. The set-up is just perfect for a wedding where you want to have a ceremony, a dance floor and a separate quieter drinking/catch up area all under the roof. Paul, Clare and the team were fabulous and bent over backwards to deliver our perfect day. Thank you The Compasses!
My new husband and I had our wedding reception at The Compasses on 16/9/16. We chose the venue as we loved the pub when we visited for sunday lunch either together or with family. The food we gave our guests was important to us and the Compasses definitely delivered with their choice of cuisine. Jane, Paul and Jono were fantastic and nothing was too much bother. They even recommended a fantastic wedding night b&b for Matt and I nearby in Chappel, Wakes Colne. The photographs from our wedding day were not spoilt by the weather and the location and countryside/rural setting were just what we wished for. They also cater for our live band and we were able to ensure a great night of entertainment for everyone! We would highly recommend The Compasses to any engaged couple as they provided us with such a bespoke service and we felt at home there. We look forward to being able to return there for other occasions in our married life x

The moment we arrived at The Compasses we knew it was special and different to any other wedding venue.
The team here make you feel like you are the only couple in the world getting married. Instead of being given tick boxes to choose what āpackageā we wanted, The Compasses listened to our plans and helped us create a truly bespoke wedding, personal to us.
The whole team are incredible. Claire was always on hand in the months leading up to our wedding for all of the little questions that arose. Jane arranged the most beautiful wedding flowers for us. Paul went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect - even a burst water pipe on the morning of our wedding didnāt phase him! He made sure our day was everything we dreamed of.
Our guests all commented on how friendly the staff were and the delicious food - the canapƩs were amazing!

Thank you to the amazing team at The Compasses for throwing us an awesome wedding reception! Unlike other venues, they let us completely tailor our day to our tastes and were very receptive to creative ideas. Our reception was very bespoke which they had no problem with, which set them far above other venues. They created a very select menu and worked with us until we were happy with all the choices. They took care of everything which made our day stress free which is a huge bonus! We had such a lovely day and had many comments from our guests about what a lovely venue we had chosen. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful so if you get a nice weather day you're bound to get some amazing photos too!

Nothing but brilliant things to say about this gem of a venue. We held a surprise wedding here on NYE and I honestly donāt think we would have got the same atmosphere anywhere else. The set-up is just perfect for a wedding where you want to have a ceremony, a dance floor and a separate quieter drinking/catch up area all under the roof. Paul, Clare and the team were fabulous and bent over backwards to deliver our perfect day. Thank you The Compasses!
My new husband and I had our wedding reception at The Compasses on 16/9/16. We chose the venue as we loved the pub when we visited for sunday lunch either together or with family. The food we gave our guests was important to us and the Compasses definitely delivered with their choice of cuisine. Jane, Paul and Jono were fantastic and nothing was too much bother. They even recommended a fantastic wedding night b&b for Matt and I nearby in Chappel, Wakes Colne. The photographs from our wedding day were not spoilt by the weather and the location and countryside/rural setting were just what we wished for. They also cater for our live band and we were able to ensure a great night of entertainment for everyone! We would highly recommend The Compasses to any engaged couple as they provided us with such a bespoke service and we felt at home there. We look forward to being able to return there for other occasions in our married life x

Where do I begin about this amazing place!! We turned up at the compasses just over a year ago looking for our dream wedding venue and fell in love straight away. It's a beautiful setting, relaxed and tailored to every need to ensure that the special day is just perfect. To the team...you are all fantastic!!! Always on hand to help with anything, nothing was to much trouble but to Paul in particular your hospitality and passion for what you do stands out a mile. Not only did we feel this but our guests also commented too. You are welcoming, kind, easy to get on with....the list could go on, It felt like you became a friend and the compasses was our home!! You made our day perfect and we had no doubt that it would be anything less. The food was also excellent and attention to detail all round was faultless. We wake up every morning wishing we could relive our wedding day, to do it all again and not change a single thing. All an absolute pleasure to work with and making you feel so so special. We had the most incredible day at The Compasses for our wedding at the end of May, I can't praise highly enough the staff, venue and location. We had our wedding at The Compasses on 26th April and we couldn't have wished for a better day.
From the moment we viewed the venue in January 2017, we knew we wanted to get married there and didnāt even go and see any other venues as we knew no where else would be able to compare. We met with Paul and said that we wanted quite an informal wedding with a BBQ for the wedding breakfast and a relaxed feel. Paul was able to offer lots of suggestions that we wouldn't have thought of and we knew it was going to be the perfect day.
Claire was great over email ā answering our many questions and finalising all of the details.
It was a real bonus that the Bridal Preparation Room was ready in time for our wedding. I arrived on morning of the wedding with my mum and bridesmaids and it was so nice to be there when everything was being set up etc. Sue looked after us; supplying coffee and prosecco and even making us a lunch platter from things that we had bought with us. Having the one way mirror in the door was great ā we loved watching guests arriving.
The wedding itself was perfect ā Paul led us through the day, made sure we had everything we needed, put lunch aside for us and so on. He even popped out to get more crackers for the cheese in the evening and a guest later informed us that he had also gone out to get her baby some food as she had been sleeping when the BBQ was served!
The food was amazing, everyone complimented it! All of the staff were discreet but helpful ā we loved it that one of the guys clearing glasses danced across the dance floor to tidy up, he was clearly having a good time too!
The Compasses couldnāt be a more beautiful venue ā it has a wonderful country pub feel to it and was everything we could have hoped for and more.
We want to thank the whole team for making our wedding so memorable ā we only hope we know someone who gets married there so we can return!!
We fell in love with The Compasses when we first visited at an open day about 18 months ago. We knew straight away that we wanted to have our wedding reception there. Meeting Jane sealed the deal and later dealing with Paul and Claire meant that planning our day went smoothly and dare I say stress free!

WOW! We saw this place online a year ago and visited then on their Open day, We didnt want your average wedding venue with a set package and As soon as we walked in we knew it was the one. The staff are amazing from Claire who answered all my annoying emails and questions to Paul who runs everything for you on the day and leading up, he is just amazing, nothing is too much trouble and we all got on like old friends. My wife and I got engaged in June 2017 in Italy and on the way back I surprised her by booking to visit the compasses as a potential wedding venue.
We were blown away by the beauty and versatility of the venue but even more so by Paul and Claire who are the most professional, friendly and helpful coordinationās you could ever imagine.
Right from the first viewing, paul made us both feel very welcome and that nothing was beyond impossible. My wife and I are both hard working professionals who at times can be demanding and have high expectations but Paul made us both feel that whatever we needed or asked could be achieved with ease.
We asked a million questions, change, reviewed and edited what we wanted and visit the venue more times than you could ever have imagined but none of this was too much bother for Paul or Claire.
Our wedding day was flipping fantastic...... Yes, every guest with a role had their own itinerary including Paulās which was 4 pages long!
