About The Cornerhouse

A place to be with friends, to drink wine and the best beers, play board games, share fresh, simple, quality food, listen to live music, and relax

The Cornerhouse Description

4-8 City Road is a beautiful Chester building with a varied history that deserves to be great again. Previously 3 shop fronts, it's been a post office, a sweet shop, a turf accountants, the site of the last Chester hanging, and the infamous Jones' Wine Bar.

With our other bar across the road, The Cellar, showcasing over 100 different beers and live sport, The Cornerhouse will focus on a more extensive and diverse wine list, a smaller but still excellent beer offering, food, live music and comedy.

The food - overflowing boards of cheese, charcuterie, and paté - is delicious and plentiful; designed to be shared.

Stretch out on a old leather chesterfield, read the papers, challenge friends to a board game dual, go for one drink and stay for hours.
