What a lovely meal we had. It was the first time we visited and it wonāt be the last. Food was excellent quality and staff were really attentive. Recommend the Ribeye.
Went here this evening. The place looks amazing and the staff are lovely. Had the crab cakes to start, followed by the pork belly and then the chocolate taster, washed down with some prosecco. Everything was fantastic, definitely worth a visit.
We took my mother to the Cow Shed for an early Mother's Day treat and, coincidentally, our first visit. The greeting we received was warm and friendly, the staff were, from the very beginning, helpful and attentive.
My mother, who isn't much of a steak eater, enjoyed a hallumi burger with chips and salad, my wife had the rump steak with bernaise sauce and sweet potato fries and I had a jack burger (a beef burger with Monterrey Jack cheese and spicy pulled pork) with fries. I requested the burger without the bun (skinny burger?) which they obliged. My burger was cooked to perfection. We also had, as side orders, pan fried hallumi slices and a whole mountain of onion rings.
The restaurant has a number of vegetarian options, such as the hallumi burger and vegetarian lasagne. Sadly we didn't get to try the dessert menu but that gives us an, excuse (if we actually needed oneļæ½!!!) to visit again.
The food was absolutely delicious and the choices of gins and tonic mixers quite excellent. All in all it was a wonderful evening and, I sincerely hope, not long before we visit the Cow Shed again.
We had a table of ten booked tonight & I would just like to thank all the staff for a great night!
The food was lovely and cooked to perfection!!
The staff were great and couldnāt do enough to help!!
Over all highly recommended!!!
The only word for this restaurant is excellent. My other half and I have heard a lot of good comments about The Cow Shed, so eventually decided to try it out on one of our rare child free evenings.
The first impression was the decor. It is very well thought out, classy but also very homely and welcoming. The tables are very comfortable and we were greeted almost immediately by a very friendly member of staff.
The food we ordered was brilliant, and there are plenty of menu choices, even for gluten intolerant customers (I had a fantastic Cow Shed Skewer, lovely).
There is also a great gin and cocktail menu, which we enjoyed, but most of all, the service was exceptional. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming, and we werenāt left waiting at all.
I would highly recommend going along, but do book in advance. Even on a Tuesday night they were very busy and we couldnāt get a table until 8.45pm, but it was worth the wait.
Great job all of you at The Cow Shed, weāll see you again soon.
The only thing that put me off was my hubby moaned everytime he took a bite of his steak (in a good way)....extremely off putting but definitely worth it!
The best ploughmanās I have ever had. Ham, cheese, pork pies, and scotch eggs, all homemade along with beautiful chutneys and bread. The service was excellent as were the cheeky cocktails we had for dessert. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon. To top it off they even allowed us to purchase scotch eggs and pork pies to take home, and cooked the scotch eggs to order! We will return for the evening menu soon.
One of the best meals I've ever had the pleasure to eat ! Steak was flawless, cooked to perfection, every other meal on our table of 7, also looked amazing! Presentation of food was awesome and the service was seamless, this was our first meal there and would not hesitate to return. Hats off to the friendly staff as well, absolutely stunning meal from all of my family,
Thank you X
Nice addition to Thanet! The food is of a good standard and the service is first class, Iāve been for lunch and also a family evening meal and both times have been impressed with the overall experience.
Me and my boyfriend came here for our 4 year anniversary, staff are so polite and lovely and food was to die forļæ½ will 100% be coming back!!
Had an amazing birthday last night food was absolutely lovely . The waitress was so helpful and made our time at the Cow shed a wonderful experince definitely recommend and will be going back thank you
Had a lovely meal this evening - last anniversary celebration with hubby! We both had the ribs which were very good and we shared a chocolate toasting platter for desert which was lovely too. I had a couple G & T s from the good selection on offer and hubby enjoyed his glass of Red Wine. Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. What's not to like. We have been meaning to try this since it opened and am glad we did. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.
Had a birthday meal here last night, the food was gorgeous.we had a starter, main meal and a sweet. The atmosphere is very friendly. The staff are friendly and always happy to assist in any requirement . The Cow Shed has a lovely inviting feel about it.they have a big selection of gins which you must try. The meals are large, they certainly do not skimp the n the servings. Our waitress came to us a few times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The owners are very friendly and came over for a chat and to make sure we enjoyed our meal. They also have a Cow Shed was n Herne Bay which is as good as the Birchington restaurant. We will certainly go back. Itās a lovely place to take people for a night out. We loved it and recommend it. You really must give it a try.
Food was amazing, the stamp on the burger bun was such a nice finish. Will def be coming back.
Staff were so polite
Will recommend to all friends
Excellent food, service and staff. Could not fault anything. Staff are extremely attentive and lovely. Can't wait to come back.
Very nice meal and pleasant staff. However, the only negative for me was that I had really been looking forward to having a nice sirloin steak but to my amazement they don't serve it. I find this rather odd for a restaurant that specialises in steak! It would also be helpful if the menu could be viewed on-line.
Food was great but, I ordered the poached pear for dessert and only got the top half of the pear ? The rounded bottom part had been cut off. Considering it was a dessert about the poached pear, I was pretty disappointed.
The seats are not that comfortable either
Will go back, I had the T-bone and it was cooked perfect.
First time in restraunt and was very busy 2 waitresses managing all the tables made for a slow service. main meal was of good quality although onion rings a bit on the greasy side, ordered a dessert after, which took near on 40 mins to arrive.
Would be really nice restraunt if more care and organisation were implemented and possibly extra staff, whether this be cooks or waiters/waitresses as somewhere something is slower than should be expected.
So today is our 10 year wedding anniversary, we decided to come to the cow shed for our first time.
We wonāt be coming back.
It started when the lady said we hadnāt booked, but managed to squeeze us in.( we booked Monday evening over phone)
The starters were very good, no complaints there.
Onto our mains,,,
I had the double burger, very very dry, for a homemade burger pathetic if Iām being honest!
My wife had the chicken burger, we had to send the first one back as it was cremated.
The 2nd one came out and was much better, but by This time I had finished my awful burger and my wife was eating alone.
I will never step foot in there again.
I will state, we wasnāt charged in the end for the cremated chicken burger.
