a superb traditional pub with very good beer and the food is on a different planet its that good staff are really good to the landlord and his good lady are just what the pub needs

User

Spent the afternoon here today for my Birthday lunch with a large group of friends and had a lovely day. Food was really good and service of such a large table was great. Thank you for a fab day :) xx

User

Really good food and the service was great. Lots of smiles and jokes so I'll definitely be coming back. Recommend the pork crackling and apple sauce for starter and had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding (homemade Yorkshire pudding) and loved it. Also see the burgers they do in there. I'll be having one of those next time :)

User

Nice pub. A bit over priced for a pint. Fantastic garden. Excellent food.

My husband and I came in for a Sunday roast on 6th August. It was a last minute booking and they were able to accommodate us. We each had a starter and a roast beef for our main and both dishes were amazing. Best roast dinner I have had in a long time and I have eaten a few in various pubs. Will definitely be visiting again!!!

User

Loved this wee treasure tucked away in the outskirts of Crowthorne. Big fire and a great meal and a really great welcome from the staff and the locals.

User

I booked a meal here purely by choosing it off the internet based on location. What a find! From the moment we walked in, the place had a wonderful feel about it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious, and very good value. We shall be visiting again without doubt!

User

Had an amazing Sunday Roast here-the food & staff were excellent & most accommodating as the restaurant was fully booked & yet were still happy to find my family a table & highchair in the bar. Also, my husband is a coeliac & they had no trouble at all at ensuring that his meal was gluten-free. Will definitely be returning in the future & wouldn't hesitate in recommending this establishment.

User

Great food, our go to place when we fancy something really well cooked. My wife and I have been going since we first discovered the place about 3 years ago. Steak is always excellent and makes it very difficult to try other items on the menu! Gets really busy now, so best to book in advance for more than two people. Keep up the good work.

User

I found the staff friendly and efficient, the food was excellent with huge portions, with comfortable and ambient surroundings, this was our third visit and won't be our last.

User

Great local pub. Everyone so friendly and we can take the dog. Had a bottle of red with the best cheese board we have ever had, came with their home made fruit and nut bread too which was delicious.

User

Great food. Lovely atmosphere. And above all dogs friendly

User

Unfortunately not as good as it used to be. Portions are much smaller and only 1 vegan choice on the menu, even then you have to specify no mayo or butter on the bun. My dinner ended up coming out with no burger bap at all...I had a tiny portion of salad and chips to accompany the burger. Very disappointing and expensive.

User

Very disappointing. Booked yesterday and preordered 2 roast beef Sunday lunches. We wanted a table round lunchtime, but was told 3.30 was the earliest, ok. Got there meals arrived with no roast potatoes, asked for them and they arrived in s bowl, black soft and swimming in duck fat. We complained and were given slightly less black greasy roasts, seasonal veg were very soggy and parsnips very hard and inedible. All in all a very disappointing first visit for a Sunday lunch I doubt if we will be returning.

User

Very disappointed after eating here . We waited almost 40 mins for our starters and then another 20 for our mains with 2 hungry children ! Was tempted not to order desert due to waiting times however we did and hey again waited along time . Every time we tried to get anyone's attention we were ignored . If the restaurant was busy then I understand delays but it want busy at all . Food was average , my carved ham was cold ! Eton mess served with no meringue just a bowl of cream ! Tables were sticky and generally felt dirty . We will not be returning in a hurry !

User

Sadly I have to say that our experience last weekend was not very good. Food took a long time arriving and when it did it wasn't very fresh. Alice and I both fancied gurnard but were told that there was only one portion left. Minutes after we placed our order the staff told the next table to us the same story. Shame, because I really like the owners who put a load of effort in. It isn't easy spreading the love to two businesses........

User

Nice little pub with attentive service

Unfortunately I didn’t leave feeling like I want to rush back for a roast dinner.. parsnip was too hard to eat, roast potatoes even though they where cooked inside they where far to pale for my liking 🙈 and sadly my plate was swimming in juice rather than a nice thicker gravy, I would prefer it to be presented in a jug so that you can add as much or as little as you like 🤷🏼‍♀️ I paid

£16.50 per roast (not the cheapest) but I expected it to be a bit more yummy 🤔

User

It's a shame because it's in a nice setting and a nice building but the service was awful. We were taken to our table and told he would be right back. 15 minutes later other tables arrived after us and had been seated , given menus and drinks orders taken. Eventually I managed to catch the of someone who did apologise and we got our drink order in.

Another large part arrived later who had booked and requested a high chair. They were not given one because they had all been handed out.

Food was ok but we won't be going back.

User

Food was nice but the staff were very rude and tried to overcharge us, when we questioned the bill, the manger argued with us, trying to justify what they had done, it’s a shame because it could be a really nice pub. We Won’t be going back, it’s a local pub but if your not a regular you are not as welcome
