Just to remind you itŌĆÖs a week today for the Carols by Torchlight!

On Thursday the 20th of December at 7pm we are carol singing again outside The Cross Daggers. It was a great success last year so I hope you can all join us again. This Year we have the additional attraction of good friends of ours "Family Brass" brass band. Northfield school will also be joining us and there's a good chance of some mulled wine and maybe even mince pies!!! Hope you can all make it...Ants

I can feel the baking tension in the air! There are no eggs left in Sainsbury's, and they've just announced the European flour mountain has become a hill. We have had a couple of entries dropped off because of personal time restraints... may the best bakers rise to the occasion! See yer later! Ants

Can I just remind everyone, this Saturday 30th of June is "Coal Aston Bake Off" day. For all those baking a cake can you have your creations at the Daggers for 2.30 pm. The judging will take place at 3.30 pm and prize giving is at 4pm. Looking forward to seeing you, Ants

On this Friday the 18th of May we will be holding a "Night of Swing Music" at The Royal Oak. Hope you can make it...nice! Ants

On Saturday the 30th of June we will be revisiting our very successful "Coal Aston Bake Off" event. We last held this in 2016 when the category was "Bread". This time the category will be "Cake" any type of cake, sponge, fruit..don't know any more but I'm sure you expert bakers will! There will be prizes but it is all meant to be a bit of fun so there's no need to get all worked up (Lisa H). Artistic licence will be allowed. The cakes will be raffled off at the end with the permission of their creators and any money raised will go to the Dronfield Mayor's Fund. If you wish to join in with the baking let us know, obviously before the day. Happy Baking!!! Ants

Bimmi's Indian Night has been arranged for Sunday the 22nd of April at The Cross Daggers. ┬Ż10 in advance please over the bar (for numbers). There is also a Bimmi's at The Royal Oak the following week...by the way.. Ants
