Staff were very friendly and beds were very comfortable, the room was rather out dated and the bathroom not the cleanest. Was disappointing that there was no staff available the morning after, we had nowhere to put our key and nowhere to have breakfast, this was at 9:10.

Comfortable, affordable, and handy for Alton Towers. There are a number of options if you stay here: pitches for tents and caravans, cabins and hotel rooms.

I had 3 nights booked to stay in the tent area of the cross inn. For starters, we were greeted by a lovely lady and told where to go and she said whilst we got the tent and everything out of the boot that we could take the car up, then park in the car park. Unaware that I was going to get my car stuck in the watery mud, we then had to find somewhere where the car wouldnt sink as we got our tent out. We then couldnt peg our tent down as there is stones all under the grass and the field was that water logged and muddy that we was muddy and soaking wet through after putting the tent up. I then went to plug our electricity in, to find myself getting stung in knee high nettles as the electricity source was in a jungle of nettles and bushes. The field was then that bad with water and mud that we had to leave the campsite after our first night and pay money to stay in another place for the next night. I am disgusted as to how bad the field was. What a nightmare we have had. Wouldnt stay there again.

Visited with all my grandchildren for a couple of days whilst we went to Alton Towers. Only 4 miles away we had a caravan and an apartment, nice spacious and clean. Staff very friendly couldn't do enough for you. Good home cooked food, friendly bar and plenty for the children to do. Would strongly recommend.

The worst place I have ever eaten. When I ordered the barman insisted he kept my bank card until we left, due to customers leaving without paying. I now understand why people refuse to pay. Apart from the hand cut chips most of the food was greasy spoon cafe quality at premium prices. My 'prime rare rump stake was the sorriest boot tongue I have ever seen on a plate. As a rule I never complain about bad food and put it down to experience. This was so bad I couldn't eat it and refused to pay for my meal. Shame because the staff were friendly enough.

Very nice food arrived quickly after ordered and polite staff. Good location near to Alton Towers. Would visit again. Did not use hotel services.

Location is great for alton towers. Meal on the first night was a little late on coming but was good for me. Mixed within the group. Staff were pleasant and took care of one of the guys before we got there. Good price too for how close it was to alton towers

A very tired and sticky pub set in in a beautiful location. If it were redecorated to resemble a real country pub and moved away from microwave-reheated food, it'd have a huge amount of growing room.

User

very run down caravan site and pub nothing like the photo's there could be so much done with both the pub and caravan site its very of putting with the old caravans just abandoned not some where i would choose to go again very disappointed and left a day earlier although we had paid in full for 3 nights stay in our caravan

Stayed in a caravan here which was very clean and in great condition. May be a downside for some but we found leftover alcohol left in the fridge (which we took advantage of tbf). Bouncy castle for kids was handy for keeping little ones entertained for half hour. Food was nice in the restaurant also.

Food was great - Big portions, hot and tasty. Lovely pub food following a day at Alton Towers. Staff are great and prices are reasonable :)

Visited for a single night after a day at Alton Towers. Quite close to the park (when driving) so very useful.

We stayed in a double room which was pretty small and basic but met our needs. The bed was comfy enough and we had a shower, tea making facilities.

The best element of the hotel is the bar/restaurant. Really nice place, friendly staff and excellent food. We spent the evening relaxing after the park and only used the room for sleeping.

Ideal for a short stay at the park but wouldn't stay for an extended period with the small room.
