A reminder that today we have Roy Carter from Heatwave playing at 730pm onwards will be a fab gig! Having played with famous band he truly is awesome.

User

Went to watch rugby here a couple of weeks ago and had a cracking meal after. Good honest food in a top pub run by top people! Very family friendly and my 6 yr old boy decided to leave his iPod which the landlord kindly found and posted back to me without accepting postage costs! Would highly recommend!!

User

We went in today for lunch and were thoroughly impressed. Really nice food, good portion sizes and service was great (We highly recommend The Cross Keys burger with stilton). We will 100% be returning soon. Thank you!

User

We recently held our baby's christening party at the Cross Keys and we were so impressed. The spread that Janice put on was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Geoff and Janice both went to a lot of trouble to make sure we had everything we needed, including a case of Prosecco as a one off order. The function room at the back is perfect for a family get together and we were lucky enough to have a beautiful day so could use the beer garden. Thanks both

User

Proper village pub . Good food and the cross keys ale is a gem . Would highly recommend..

User

Last Friday I had some friends over for the Fish and Chips to celebrate two of their birthdays. Fantastic food and beer in a great friendly environment. They all commented on how lucky I was to have a pub like the Cross Keys to go to. Thanks Geoff and Janice.

User

Just simply what an English village pub should be. Terrific family birthday meal, great atmosphere, tasty ale - what's not to really like ... lucky King;s Cliffe.

I may be accused of nepotism but it can't be denied that the Cross Keys is ultra friendly and serves some of the best food and beers in the area. I will be back!

User

Had a fantastic meal at the Cross Key’s today. A lovely two meat Calvary. Very welcoming and polite.

Shall be returning, looking forward to our next visit

Thanks Ian and staff

User

User

Cozy pub in a beautiful village. New owners are so friendly and welcoming. Great beer and fabulous traditional pub food at great value for money. Highly recommended!

User

A great atmosphere with a real fire, good food and lovely welcoming hosts. You can't get much better than that. Thanks.

User

Went for lunch today, my partner and I and the two children, we were made to feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Can't wait to return and sample dinner one evening minus the kids !!!

Keep up the good work.

User

Very good for children and food, booked for 22 people to have dinner one night, fingers crossed food will be as good as when I came for lunch xxx

User

Went to the cross keys for a meal with a group of 10 of us. First time we've been here since the new ownership. Was quite disappointed with the menu & food. 5 had the curry & way to salty. Had a steak, which was nice but the peppercorn sauce was just runny cream with peppercorns, no taste. Not sure if we'll be back again if it stays like this. Shame really as it's always been a great pub to dine at previously.

User

A bit disappointed after our Sunday lunch today. We came a few weeks ago and it was lovely for £11.95 but today it was £15.95 and nowhere near as good. The beef was chewy and

we got a teaspoonful of redcurrant jelly for 4 people for the turkey and a bowl of carrots with a few other veg to share. Two 'roast' potatoes looked like the deep fried spuds we used to put out for a darts night when I worked in a pub. Drinks were over priced - £3.50 for a St Clements ( orange and lemon as I had to explain - basically a small mix of bitter lemon and orange juice). The cold and incredibly quiet back room didn't help. I had praised the Sunday lunch to our friends, now I'm embarrassed that I took them there.

User

£10 for a carvery but food average and bland

The manager has very little customer service skills. Can be rude and flustered when busy

Staff are too busy rushing around and if the pub is busy they literally push past you. no manners or consideration.

Few people also left the pub as waiting time and service is slower than expected even during not busy times.

Nice to see an old pub still running but not worth the visit to be honest. Real shame in a dying industry where customer service is important.

Dogs are allowed in the venue but advice is dont bother taking your dog. Staff just push past, shove the dog out the way etc. Honestly a bad attitude and atmosphere in there with average food
