i have been looked after very well by the lovely staff (Alice, Soph, John et al) here for the weekend - morning, noon and night. really want to come back to Nottingham soon :)

good offerings, good atmosphere

a group of us (12) showed up unannounced on Monday, 5/3/2018 from 1 PM onward; the staff were brilliant, helping us to find seating where we were all comfortable as well as making sure we were all set with drinks & food. hats off to both servers & the kitchen staff for making our afternoon spent in the Cross Keys a good one! p.s. kudos to the kitchen for the delicious meals! they were seriously appreciated :)

Why do I love the Cross Keys?



The staff! You always get a great welcome from everyone; and it's lovely to see and chat with the same people each week; unlike other city bars with high staff turnovers. Each one has a very different personality, so it's always fun to see who's on that night ... and everyone loves Sophie 🤗 The food; a bit hit and miss sometimes BUT steak nights ... probably THE BEST steak you'll ever have for your money! At under a tenner for a great steak and cask ale, you can't go wrong .... and they also have the best pork scratchings!!! The pubs always spotless, yet retains that proper pub look, smell and feel! They do Peroni too ... a proper pint!



Only negatives; it gets a little hot when busy (needs air con!) and they don't serve Guinness. It would also be nice if they brought back live comedy nights or some other form of live entertainment or music ... maybe something for locals/regulars (I'm thinking more speed dating than dominoes here!) Maybe a movie/film night ... it would be great for us city dwellers to have somewhere to hang out and chat with strangers!

We arrived, all 8 of us hoping and praying to get a much needed meal (we have visited before and the food was awesome then), and the manager accommodated us within 5 minutes despite being super busy. We had a lovely meal that wasn't too expensive and the staff were so friendly, polite and had brilliant senses of humour to a table that may have been a little loud and laughing quite a lot, we'll probably be back next time we have a visiting day out in Nottingham xx

Turned up Sunday but hadn't reserved a table. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Had a lovely table upstairs which is beautiful. Roast beef Sunday lunch was delicious. Meat perfectly cooked with lots of seasonal veggies. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed in Nottingham for a Noel Gallagher gig. Had a brilliant lunch in the Cross Keys and returned in the morning for breakfast. You won't go hungry in here! Great food, good prices, friendly staff. Will seek this place out when we're next back in Nottingham!

Saturday 26th May, my husband and I had our wedding meal at Cross Keys in the Alice and Wonderland themed dining room upstairs. We had a fantastic night! We want to thank Sophie, Joel, Cara and Phoebe who couldn’t do enough for us and made our evening special. A big Thankyou to Kayleigh the chef, the food was amazing. You all did a fantastic job and we are truly grateful �

Never been before, but we loved it. Food was lovely and the staff welcoming and friendly.

Lovely atmosphere, excellent food with choices to suit all tastes and at very reasonable prices, proper pub food, none of your gastro pub stuff, and very friendly, welcoming bar staff. A great pub.

First time I been in the upstairs room. 4 of us had Sunday lunch before heading to the match. The Room was excellent and had covers for approx 25. Comfortable, attractive surroundings (idea for hiring I would say). Food was excellent. Service by the Manager and Waitress were spot on (sorry I should have taken their names as they did deserve a special mention). Beer as always was great. Will be back.

Excellent food and beers and the staff are superb. I make a point of visiting every time I’m in Nottingham. ��

Best steak I’ve had in a long time !so glad I found this treasure, lovely service, so friendly and welcoming, everything was clean and we paid less than £25, will definitely be back, thank you

An excellent Sunday lunch today with the family. Good value, very tasty!

3rd year running Youth Offending Team have had our Christmas meal there!! We book straight away for following year. Phenomenal place serving the best Christmas meal Ever.

We hire upstairs. It's like being in someone's front room!!!! Staff are excellent. Service second to none !! First class. We had our meal there last night. No food was left on any of the 20 plates!! My Sea Bass was exquisite!@

We had drinks and snacks and when the manager Joel found out 3 of my friends were recovering from cancer we got an amazing free pudding and he was so lovely he made my friends week!

This is a traditional pub in Nottingham. I have visited many times & do like it. The staff are really good. I've had breakfast & some small plate meals & all have been great. My partner always comes here to watch the football too. I will continue to come back for sure. My only dislike is the picture of Brian Clough on the wall. (I was never a fan �) but I do get it.....

Had the American Independence day special meal very nice too,little hiccup with the steak but dealt with very professionally,very friendly staff will go again. ��

Great staff , great service we were a party of 13 also having a meal and they coped very well! Meal was nice although portion could have been larger!
