The Crown

Cribbage was somewhat up & down this week as pegging seemed to be an issue, must be the all the beer...good fun that seemed to see the usual suspects showing their cards and pegging out first again....many thanks...see you next week.

Sorry not been up dating for a while been a bit under pressure work wise...but back today...the Quiz night was a little thin on the ground but it still seemed to get very noisy (think that might just be Michael) anyhoo..."DAVE & HIS TART" team were victors this week and certainly did let the "A TEAM" know it...well done to all and thanks for the support and the bit for charity...cheers

The Tuesday quiz was snatched by "ODDS & SODS" this week, pretty close call though with all teams doing very well indeed....little bit more for charity so well done to all and thank you. Oh... and yes the "A TEAM" did beat the "THE STRANGERS".

The Tuesday Quiz closed with the theme tune from the "A TEAM", yep...victorious on a very noisy night, all in good fun of course...excellent turn out, keep it up and a big thanks to all.

The Christmas Quiz won by the "CRACKERS" team, who kindly put their winnings into the amount raised for charity, was widely commented on as a good fun night. The main reason for it all, charity, and with The Landlord & Landlady topping it off to a round £250 all going to Parkinson's UK, everyone did the charity proud. Michael, The Quiz Master, would like to thank everyone who attended and for digging so deep...well done, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all...

"ATEAM" winning on the last round this week, nicked it all from the "STRANGERS" , with only one incorrect answer on that table round we conceded that they were deserved victors....we all had to endure the dreaded ATEAM theme tune...Colin won the silly hat sweets...well done to all and many thanks...no quiz now till new year.

Cribbage raised the stakes with seven this week, good pegging by all....one more chance next week before an xmas break, so come and have a go.

Twas a good xmas related quiz on Tuesday a few nights before the big day...A quick putting right of a score, the "NO HOPE" team actually scored 72 1/2 points not 68 1/2 as stated by the quiz master on the night, they still came last but with a better score...the top three teams were very close, two teams tied second with 84 1/2 points each with the winners "DAVE & HIS TART" coming in with 85....good fun night, well done and thanks to all those attending...see you next time...cheers.

Tuesday saw "THE STRANGERS + ONE" defeat all other pretenders to the crown of quiz winners....thrashing all who... well...er..pretended. Sonia, Peter & Nina just simply outscored the lot with what can only be described as an almost perfect. Well done to all who attended and a big thanks from all at the Crown...Cheers.
