🥰 Lots of happy smiley faces under the stars today. The last classes of the term in Hawkhurst and some more sad goodbyes in Wrigglers as mummies go back to work and babies move on. Sending you all good wishes! Thank goodness I'm not saying goodbye to everyone - I'll see some of you next term at least!

Karena and I are getting all prepared to meet you and share our combined love of essential oils and connecting with your baby through positive touch and massage. It's going to be a lovely relaxing session, suitable to come with your baby, or if you're pregnant you're very welcome to find out how to use essential oils through pregnancy and afterwards - I have dolls for you to use so that you're ready once baby arrives! If you haven't managed to secure a place on my upcoming Daisy Tinies massage classes this term, why not come to this and learn some valuable techniques? It's half full already so be quick! All details below, or message me: anna-hayes@thedaisyfoundation.com

The last Daisy Tinies and Wrigglers classes of term today in Tunbridge Wells and Pembury, and they were wonderful! My Wrigglers showed how clever they have become over the weeks and months that I've known them - one of our Wrigglers saved their first clapping for class today 👏 And we were left in no doubt about how much another of the babies was enjoying herself as she kept signing 'more' during one of our games - just the loveliest thing to see! The Tinies were a picture of peace and calm after their class! And I have been bowled over by the kindness and generosity of my lovely Mums - thank you 😘 x

One of the most rewarding parts of being a Daisy teacher is seeing some amazing friendships develop between the mums and mums-to-be that come to Daisy classes. Mums that have become best friends, groups who celebrate their babies, their toddlers, their preschoolers and then their childrens' birthdays together! Discovering your village, your 'mum tribe' is all part and parcel of that journey.

Are you feeling ready for birth? How about your partner? Whether it’s your first baby or subsequent, with the Active Birth Workshop you'll find out all about how labour works and how, together, you can have a positive birth experience.
We’ll talk through labour from the very start to the very end. You’ll know all about the early signs, the hormones, what’s happening in your body and how you can use breathing, movement, positions and massage to help you. Plus, your birth partn...er will know all this too, so when the time comes they will be fully equipped to support you.
All the discussions we have will help you with your birth plans, you’ll have a clearer idea of what you would and wouldn’t like to happen and working through this process together now makes it easier on the day.
The workshop focuses on natural birth techniques but we know that things might not go to plan or you might need to consider interventions so we’ll also cover pain relief options and induction.
You’ll be getting evidence based information, practical advice and support for whatever choices you make, and I’m here for continued support afterwards too.

"...remember your village. Remember all the other moms in the world who are feeling exactly how you're feeling, and experiencing exactly what you're experiencing."

Loving this new poster from Carrying Matters - Dr Rosie Knowles. We've known about the benefits of skin to skin for quite some time, but research now shows that just one hour a day of skin to skin time with your baby during the first 14 days reaps lasting benefits. Of course, we shouldn't need a reason to be spending some time in skin to skin snuggles even way after those first 14 days!

I'll be at Baby Late Cafe in Battle this morning for free advice - if you're pregnant or a new parent with questions, come along! Informal support with coffee, tea and cake of course!

Did you see this article recently? I can see that there are arguments for and against having Dads to stay, depending on your circumstances, but I wondered, what are your views and your experiences?

In the box this week at Wrigglers! Dragon themed baby yoga and sensory fun 😀 🐲

I love this picture from Student Midwife showing the wonderful benefits of skin to skin time after birth - and remember that putting your baby skin to skin at any time, even months after birth can help with calming them, aiding milk production and breastfeeding amongst many other things!

I'm really looking forward to being at Baby Latte Cafe in Battle this Thursday from 10.30-11.30 to offer free support and advice around all things newborn and what to expect in those first three or four months in particular as baby adjusts to life outside the womb - and you adjust to a baby! Not sure what's normal? Come and chat. I can help you out with understanding how to calm and soothe your baby, breatsfeeding questions and more. Look forward to seeing you there! Oh, and there will be Baby Latte's usual delicious coffee and cake!

Ok, if you're parenting a little one you may not be able to fully relax, but here's hoping you can take even just a few minutes to yourself today - a hot drink and a magazine, a bit of TV (that isn't Peppa Pig...), a bath, maybe a nice walk and some deep breaths of fresh air. Let me know if you do something nice 😊
