The great pretenders!

We stayed over the weekend and had an amazing time! We had a meal in the restaurant Friday night which was gorgeous! The Camembert with chorizo was amazing as was the lasagne! The disco in the bar on Friday was awesome! The staff were so friendly and lovely and made us feel very welcome! In particular Alicia (sorry I put Melissa instead of Alicia on tripadvisor haha!) Sian and Matt were awesome!! Saturday we went back for lunch and had whitebait, chicken liver and mushroom pate and pie of the day all which tasted amazing! The band on Saturday night were awesome as well!! The breakfast buffet Saturday morning was lovely as was the breakfast menu on Sunday morning! Very reasonably priced and lovely hotel rooms which were decorated beautifully and were very clean! Could not recommend this hotel enough!!! The staff are exceptionally hard working and look like they love their job and all definitely deserve a pay rise ’┐Į thank you for an amazing weekend away!!!

We held the wake for my father in law here on Wednesday May 2nd. We had booked buffet and tea/coffee for 100 people - quite a challenge. When we had 135 turn up at the funeral service we knew we had a challenge on our hands. The staff at The Stage were brilliant in dealing with both the original booking and also the increased numbers. There was plenty of food and they made sure that everyone who wanted a tea or coffee had one. We had booked the whole restaurant and the management immediately closed off the lounge area for our exclusive use to cope with the increased numbers. Great value & service, terrific attitude and complete empathy with our requirements. Well done team Stage - you helped the family of my father in law have a great send off and celebration of his life. Thank you with all our hearts.

The stage at market Deeping allowed our three Tibetan terriers into the bar, so we could have a sandwich out of the glare of the sun. They were very good, and so was our food.......... extremely good latte :-)

My husband and I were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary yesterday. We were making a visit to the Priory Church so needed somewhere close by to eat.

We had a party of 6 adults and two very small grandchildren, so it was also important for the venue to be child friendly. The Deeping Stage fitted the requirements exactly.

The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was plentiful and hot. Our family enjoyed their experience and their meal. Thank you

Had the most amazing steak and Guinness pie tonite. Very welcome after moving house today. Thank you to the new chef, will be back soon.

Had a great stay on 3rd of December. The young lady who booked us in and out and also served our breakfast was outstanding. This is one of many visits to the Deeping Stage and we are never disappointed. The full English breakfast is as always delicious. Well done the Deeping Stage.

Great atmosphere and good selection of beers. However, the hand dryers couldn't produce enough air to play a particularly small flute.

Came here today with my mum, me being a vegan and my mum being gluten free.. we had a lovely experience, I asked the lady who I spoke to on the phone if I could bring my own vegan cheese to have with a meal that I choose and she said that was fine! ’┐Į

I ended up having jacket potato with no butter, vegan cheese melted on top, mixed seasonal vegetables and the beer battered onion rings (which I have to say were incredible.. and HUGE!!) my mum had the vegetable burger without the bun, vegetables and the hand cut chips.

We really enjoyed our time at the stage and will be returning very soon, all the food was fresh and nicely presented!

(Although the younger waitress could do with smiling a bit more, the older lady was cheery and helpful!) we had a lovely time ’┐Į

We went here for Mother's Day, we had a booking for 15 people, and although the table was not ready when we arrived, we waited about 20 mins to be seated.

The food is lovely for a Sunday carvary, the only downside, this is all they do.

So if you don't like a carvary not worth going, my husband asked if they did an alternative even just a portion of chips, where he was told, no! So he sat the whole meal eating nothing, while everyone was tucking in.

Also it does get very busy and it was difficult walking through diners with a hot plate in your hand.

Top food, they seemed to have run out of plates and had to use a bread board and old tin cup for my meal. Vinegar also doesnŌĆÖt pour well from an open top jar! #wewantplates

Had our sons christening at The Stage on Sunday. We was really pleased with the service from start to finish, great comments from all 40 guests regarding food and venue. Would recommend to anybody as a venue for a small party.

Had a very good 2 course meal on the Early Bird Menu and excellent service by by Lynne in the restaurant also compliments to the chef much better than previous visit.

First visit Sunday carvery offered a good choice of starters, three meats and varied selection of veg all hot and very tasty choice of puddings. Finisged off by drinks by the river all in all nice meal and setting staff attentive. I like that the bar is one site of the old coaching way and restaurant the other god decore. Definightly go again when passing that way.

Went for breakfast with friends which we can't fault the food but the staff/manager at the time was very rude to us. When we arrived we were told its ┬Ż6 all you can eat, but they didn't tell us that the orange juice was for residents of the hotel only, so we had 3 glasses which we were charged for which is fine but when we left there was a note to say "residents only" we spoke to a member of staff not get a refund but just simply to say we were not told when we arrived and that the note wasn't there on arrival. The member of staff was very rude with her first reply to us being "you don't walk into tesco and just pick up an apple and eat it do you" I thought it was a given that juices are available at breakfast but clearly I was wrong. She then continued to make hand gestures and pull faces at us. We would have been happy for the staff to say "we are very sorry that you weren't told this, we will make sure the note is on there from opening next time". Her customer service was appalling and she was very rude, I think she may need to go back to college to learn some. Other than the rude staff the food was good. We will be going to the iron horse instead next time.

The bar area is lovely, great atmosphere, decor is fab.

However............upstairs is a different ball game.

Smelt fusty and damp, our room had stains on the carpet, damp patches on walls, paint peeling, spiders on ceiling, mold in the bathroom, cracked floor tile and the mirror was peeling. Very disappointing.

WouldnŌĆÖt recommend anyone staying overnight there, but would recommend the restaurant and the live entertainment.

Such a disappointment. Waited over an hour for 2 kids meals and 2 sandwiches. Very cold in the restaurant too.

Lived in Deeping 20 years before moving to Birmingham for 8years. Back here for a brief visit. Now I know things are always cheaper in the city, but ┬Ż4.25 for a pint is ridiculous. And ┬Ż10 minimum card payment?! It's as if they don't want the custom. Used to come here a lot 10 years ago but I wouldn't recommend it now.

Booked a room for 3 nights for my family Friday to Sunday night, we booked this online and rang to confirm the booking had gone through as well as receiving an email to confirm the booking, we then rang again a couple of weeks before the booking and a few days before we received an email to ask us to get in contact with the stage regarding the booking, contacted them on the Tuesday 3days before my family were supposed to be staying and again on the phone they confirmed there was a room booked for three nights!! Upon arrival after my family travelling 200 miles from Wales they decided to tell us that the room was double booked on the Saturday night and they couldn't stay!! Their pathetic excuse was the fact they had been having problems with their online booking service but how does this excuse the three phone calls we had made in the mean time to confirm the booking, clearly their staff are useless and completely incompetent to run a hotel!! To make matters worse the manager did not even bother coming out of his hole to apologise about the whole mess up instead my family were told he was busy cooking!! Absolutely disgusting service and organisation! Will defiantly not be staying or recommending this joke of a hotel again!!
