We visited on Thursday 14th December. Delicious food, lovely decor, we did have an extremely long wait for our drinks to arrive (over half an hour) so we thought we'd have just as long if not more for our food but we were pleasantly surprised. I had chips and fish, the fish was absolutely delicious, we'll try it again, I'm hoping the drinks will be faster next time.

Love this place - we can bring our dog (and we do....all the time). Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Decor is just lovely - somebody has a good eye for design (possibly two on a good day 👀). Occasionally rrived after last orders for food but when we do get our act together it's well worth the effort as the food is very good (kicks away soap box and orders food).

Very poor. Cold vegetables and gravy. Beef was fatty and under cooked.

Having eaten here on several occasions now on different days I cannot praise this place enough. The staff are friendly and helpful, food is lovely and there is a great vibe to the place. Love it

I thought it will be fine. But then I was wrong again.

Moderate food poisoning after the dinner. All night toilet trip.

Still got away cheap.

Not being able to do a burger properly?

The fish was fine though and my wife is well.

Occasionally slow service but the food is worth the wait. Highly local produce expertly served at all times.

Fantastic, new owners Cary and Shelly how freindly they are, big change round or what x. Went for a meal friday night. Burger and chips, oh no not usual burger it was stunning really thick meaty burger with cheese amd bacon, with a bucket of fries. My son had pork belly, amazing he said it was the nicest meal he had ever had.

The new owners cannot do enough for you so so nice,, please give it a try.

I have seen the sunday roast come out, which I haven't had the chance to sample but that is next on my list.

Cannot recommend it enough

Very rude, arrogant and abusive manageress and the food is priced too high for what you get. First I'd like to address the shocking comments I received from Gill the owner when I put up a review on their facebook page. She called me a liar, asked if I 'normally wear a shell suit on a sunday' (I don't own a shell suit as far as I know they went out of fashion in the 80s!) Said she suspects myself and my friend ended up in the wrong place implying we weren't suitable clientele for a pub lunch on a sunday (let me just say that we're both business owners and by no means dirty or scruffy as she implied), She then threatened to leave a bad review on my own business page, then went on to threaten to take me to court. Absolutely appalling behavior from the owner of a restaurant! And I'm clearly not the first person she's been so rude to. I've since looked on trip advisor and seen her reply to other reviews calling one poor man fat, saying someone 'had no balls' and was a 'sad little man', telling someone they should eat 2 buckets of kfc like they obviously normally do, and called one person a liar with 'awful children!!'. What a lovely woman! Great way to speak to customers! Please avoid this place she doesn't deserve any business.

Now here's what happened in the restaurant. The saying you get what your pay for comes to mind and here you pay loads and don't get much. Went with a friend last week who had come a long way to visit and we gave this place a try. Food was ok. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible. However the service really spoiled the meal. When we ordered my friend asked if he could order the beef sunday lunch (£15 i think it was which in my opinion is a bit pricey anyway) and he asked the server if he could have half beef and half lamb if that was ok. Server came back and said yes that's fine. Meal arrived and it was alright all in all, until a woman came over who was the manageress and asked us if we were enjoying it. 'Yes love fine thanks'. Great, she says smugly, and just so you know because you've got extra lamb it'll be £20 for your meal. 'what?!' Nothing was mentioned about an EXTRA £5 CHARGE when we ordered. Turns out they'd apparently put double meat on his plate instead of half and half as he asked for. And then charged him £5 for the privilege (and lets put it this way, it didn't look like double meat..) We explained to her that he only wanted half and half and was told dismissively 'Well you've got it now, what you don't eat you can take home'. She then flounced away! I was gobsmacked! I called a server over and told her sorry there was absolutely no way we were paying £20 for 1 tiny sunday lunch because he'd got 1 extra slice of meat on it. In the end after a bit of a fuss they only charged him an extra £1 but it really put us off. The rudeness from the manageress was unacceptable and uncalled for and the hidden charges made us feel like they were just money grabbing. Personally I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone but by all means try it and see for yourself. You'll wish you hadn't bothered!
