Wonderful meal here this afternoon with my friend. Lady who served us was lovely and friendly and the food was served really quickly. Lovely hot food well presented (chips were amazing!). Lovely little place that looks like its recently been refurbished. Will be calling again soon.

We travel from Northwich to visit our Mum in Accrington. We have tried numerous places, but The Dog and otter is her favourite and she is 91 so very well educated on pub food. The choice is vast, always delicious and served on warm plates with real chips ! Ali is an amazing host, so friendly. Can't fault this place !

User

We have visited a few different local restaurants in the past month, but this one was the best food we have tasted in a while & the staff are very helpful & friendly. Service was quick & not pushy. Will definitely be going back very soon.

User

Took my grandaughter for lunch , we really enjoyed the experience. The food was lovely, hot and plenty of it. The service was spot on . The dog and otter is a very friendly, welcoming place and really good value for money . My grandaughter said she couldn't wait to go again

This pub is practically next door to my sister kate dane, which is why we went there, but would happily drive to this little gem.there were 11 of us plus a baby and a dog.we were really well looked after and extremely well fed.they were short staffed and managed to get everyone fed quickly and all together.even the dog was made to feel special.thankyou for helping make our lovely family get together even better.brilliant job.

User

Stumbled on the Dog and Otter by chance .. so glad I did. Food was lovely, well presented and very good value for money .. The hospitality was second to none.. the pub was spotless, Will be going back for sure. The added plus is ... dogs are welcome inside so a great big thumbs up from me.

Omg. I suffer so much with being coeliac. We've just been to the dog and otter for the first time in a long time,as we can't eat out with my condition and today I've just found out that our local pub do gluten free menu. I'm so full I can't move. My husband also had a lovely meal. Will definitely be back soon :-)

User

Monday night 2 grills for £14 Is a great offer, we had the Rib eye steaks and they were fantastic.

Absolutely great pub for both food and drink.

User

Me and my hubby have just been for a valentines night meal and had 3 course menu and can honestly say it was the best meal we have ever had . A massive well done we will definitely be back to try something else .

User

How lucky are we to have this pub up the road. Very welcoming to our big family group including tiny baby and big dog. Good beer and good food. Well done Alison and Ian.

User

Held my daughters 1st Holy Communion today at the Dog & Otter. Lovely touches of Communion banners, napkins & sweetie jars for the children. The Buffett was delicious & we were even provided with plastic boxes to take the leftovers home. We’ll definitely be visiting again for a meal. Thank you for making it a lovely day for us all.

User

Had a great lunch with my friend on Friday afternoon, plenty of choice on the menu, which also stated calorific value and had gluten free options. Very impressed. Food came in good time, was hot and delicious to boot. Will definitely be back.

User

Great pub very friendly staff good beer and great food and plenty of it nice specials list, great for popping in for a paint and a sank on the way back from walking with dog are no dog, great bands on now and again.

User

Good food, good value and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We were a large group, but everyone's food was hot and tables were served together. A lovely evening.

User

Beautiful meal!! Really enjoyed it! Quick service and hot fresh food! Very well priced too! Will definately be going again x

User

The service is still fantastic. It's just the food (fried ) was overcooked (chicken nachos skewers and garlic mushrooms and chips .) The side salad lettuce was not fresh.. but the fish was good and the desserts was great. It's pity because the landlady (we think) was fantastic as ever. Hope they could train their chef's how to fry

User

The food has certainly taken a turn for the worse in the last few months. It could also do with a really good clean. My dog loves going because he finds all sorts of food hidden under the seats! A shame really as the staff are friendly and helpful and is a nice local pub. Will only be going for a drink in future.

User

Not been up the there for a while and won’t be going again after last night

I had to work and as we have some Aussie guests my hubby took them to your pub for dinner

2 for the price of 1 grill night but apparently that doesn’t mean mixed grill ?? WHAT?? a plate of grilled meat and a steak ordered along with a hunters chicken.

Then told no the mixed grill isn’t in the deal which they was made aware of at the point of paying. PATHETIC surely that should have been pointed out by the person taking the order?

Either way back to the Park for us the food is much better too

I came up on Bank Holiday Monday after visited a few months ago and things have taken such a turn for the worse in what use to be a lovely pub. As we arrived the beer garden at the rear was full of weeds, cigarette ends on the floor and general bits of rubbish. As we walked into the pub there was one other couple eating and a couple stood at the bar drinking. We stood at the bar waiting for a few minutes to get served while the waitress was talking to the chef in the kitchen about the reduction in hours the new owners have given to all staff. It was a quite loud conversation between them which could easily be heard by customers which was not very professional. Once we were acknowledged the waitress came and served us quite abruptly and it was obvious she was not happy. We ordered our drink, sat down to look at the menu and just watched for a while. The general feel of the place has changed so much since my last visit. Staff are obviously not happy and the family cosy feel has definitely left the building. I understand it must be hard to run a business but the new owners have got a lot of work to turn the business back to where it was a few months ago when I last visited. A general good clean up inside and out would be where I would start along with telling staff not to discuss work issues around customers. We decided not to order anything and try somewhere else. I truly hope it’s just teething problems in starting a new business because it was such a lovely pub a few months ago the reviews on here confirm that. We will definitely try again but not for a few months until things have settled.
