The Dorset Lavender Farm Project

About The Dorset Lavender Farm Project

Provider of work and volunteer placements in a peaceful, rural, outdoor environment. Work experience offered to young people and adults with learning difficulties or mental health issues involving them in the running of the farm.

The Dorset Lavender Farm Project Description

Work placements and volunteering opportunities are offered to individuals or groups. Students from the local Yewstock and Forum Schools have had sessions at the farm, the former having made many of our wooden tables and benches.
We grow a range of varieties of lavender from seed and plugplants, plus there are rows in the field for harvesting in Summertime.
We have growing partnerships with other groups locally, such as Stour Connect Day Centre who look after some of our our young plants.
We also offer art and craft sessions and produce a wide range of items using harvested lavender. We are developing distilling the lavender to use in new products.
