we were going to go to wetherspoons when we parked down aire street and decided to try your pub, lovely pub and the food was excellent! we will come again!

Stayed here last night with family. Rooms where nice clean and very comfortable. Found staff where great always happy to help and had great sense of humour. Breakfast was lovely would definitely recommend and absolutely stay here again. Thank you all so much :)

Stayed here last night with family, the rooms were very clean and spacious, the staff were all very welcoming and friendly with a great sense of humour, we also stayed for breakfast too and that was delicious too would definitely recommend.

Myself and my daughter called in the drake this afternoon the food was delicious we had a cheese burger, came with onion rings,coleslaw and chips excellent barman and cook 5**** will definitely be going again x

Came today for lunch and was so happy to browse through a vegan friendly menu. I had the vegan lasagne and it was SO good, was gutted I couldn't eat it all. My other half loved his meal too and we will definitely be back :-)

This is only my second visit in as many months and I find it clean and friendly, the food was nicely presented. On my first visit there were 5 craft ales and yesterday only 2. I understand they need to be turned over regularly but the fault could be that there are too many choices of mediocre bitters and lagers. A fine choice of Whisky/Whiskey, Gin and Vodka though. Good luck.

I went to The Drake for a bacon sandwich and a coffee and to watch the cricket, the cricket wasn't on but the kind bar maid but it on for me, was really pleased with that as I got to watch England win the Test Match! Many thanks!

I stayed at the drake inn last night very friendly atmosphere the accommodation was superb it far exceeded any expectations I had. The breakfast this morning was just perfect everything was cooked just right and there was lots of it, so much I couldn't finish it. I would recommend staying here to everyone � x

A couple of weeks ago I called in for tea with a friend. I had heard a lot of good things about the drake from family and friends so had high expectations for my first visit. We ordered a burger and a hot dog with a coke and a shandy. At over £18 I expected something better than what we received. The food was ok, nothing different from regular pub grub,and although I understand it's an independent pub, I still thought it a little pricey. The 2 staff were friendly so no complaints there. But on a visit to the ladies toilets I found all 3 dirty and unusable. I reported it to the staff and was told it would be reported. I left soon after to rush home to the loo so don't know what happened with that.



Today I decided to give them another chance,I have the day off work so could try one of their famous breakfasts. Imagine my disappointment when I arrived to find them closed. Oh well, Wetherspoons it is then.

We arrived in goole late Friday night for a two night stay at the Drake, we was going to stay at the lowther hotel but this was full. Tried to find way in to drake ( the hotel part ) was a bit is guess work as no sign but found it at the side of building only to find out after Richard gong bell a few times you have to go though the pub , great !!!. Was met by a young lady who checked us in. Very friendly, a little over friendly for my liking but hay ho. After putting our bag in our room ( 5 ) we went out for something to eat, the receptionist was on the front doorstep on the pub at this point cig in hand necking a can of alcohol, I am thinking now gust after 5 minutes of being here what kind of place have we come too. Then found out every time we went out and came back in we had to wait till someone was free to open the key code door. This was a pain and made it feel a bit like a secure hospital!!. Pub/ beer garden very noisy till late 1:30-2am but it is a pub so only to be expected.

Second night we was at a golden anniversary party at over end of the town, same receptionist/ bar worker on asked her if where we was going was in walking distance or should we take a taxi, her reply was " get pissed here and you can walk anywhere " though to myself wonderfull ! Would have been better asking a lump of wood !!. Apart from that the room was lovely and clean, everything we needed was there apart from the lack of hot water at hand basin. Breakfast on 1st morning was really really nice, toast could have been made out of a bit thicker bead as it snapped in to bits it was to thinner slice to make toast with. Breakfast from a diferant cook on Sunday morning was over cooked ( every thing ). Young guy who served us was very pleasant , polite and helpful the best asset the drake has staff wise. Don't think we will stop hear again, sorry but not really our cup of tea.
