Chef is frequently badgered into making chocolate desserts for his chocolate loving family but what better way to celebrate #chocolateweek than with with chocolate marquise (basically a giant chocolate truffle!)

We had a wake here for my mother in law and we must say it was so beautiful and stunning x the room was set out perfectly for us x it's so clean and fresh it gave you a real sense of being some where special x the Manager Helen was so helpful and she went out of her way to make sure that we had every thing that we needed x the staff were amazing and very helpful x we had the afternoon tea with beautiful sandwiches, jam & cream scones, brownies, duck shaped biscuits and other bits x it was amazing and very well worth the money x everyone complemented on how perfect it was and how much they enjoyed it x we will not hesitate to have any other functions here or even a meal x we cannot thank you all enough for such a lovely day my mother in law would have been so pleased xx

We enjoyed a fantastic Valentine's evening at the duck. The sharing starter and pudding platters were amazing!! Really great having the little bite sized choices each one filled with flavour and look like alot of effort had gone in. For our mains we chose the curried lamb shank which was cooked to perfection and a lovely sized portion. The restaurant itself is beautfuly decorateted and very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy the experience. Will definitely visit again =)

This was my first visit to The Duck and I can't wait to return already! A range of different dishes to choose from, had myself and others in my party debating what to order as it all sounded amazing. I even ended up ordering some foods and dishes I'd never tried before in any restaurant. Absolutely superb! Staff were welcoming and friendly, and our server did an amazing job of describing the desserts to my undecided Mum. Great food, great restaurant, highly recommend.

The best dining experience I've ever had. If you want to have a posh dinner , all freshly made then this is the place for you! Everything was perfect: modern, light venue, friendly staff, and delicious food. Will we be back? Most certainly!

The Duck recently hosted an afternoon tea for a hen Do group I was involved in organising. From the very first contact, to on the day, Helen could not be more helpful. We had the top room to ourselves and it was perfect (with beautiful views!) great venue, great tea. Thanks very much Helen x

The Duck had come highly recommended to us by friends , so on visiting the Island to see family we decided to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary there . We were not disappointed, what an amazing meal we had last night , the surroundings and customer service were spot on . The food was so beautifully presented and will go down as one of the best meals we have had out . We will definitely be returning ...perfect �

Stunning menu, I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection (and I usually find rump to have a thick line of fat in it, this was pure meat!) the cocktails were very pretty and tasty, the restaurant was very clean, beautifully decorated and well laid out. And the staff were lovely. Very clever that they change their menu every 6 weeks (my only disappointment is that there was no delicious mushroom sauce with the steak this time BUT what it came with was just as lovely!) Took my best friend who in 14 years of friendship has never finished a meal out, she cleared her plate! Very fast becoming my favourite place to eat �

Popped in for a light lunch this afternoon...The wife had the flat mushroom & halloumi burger & i had the Isle of Wight Steak burger, very nice & very tasty.

The restaurant was immaculately clean & the service was spot on, i found the staff to be very sociable & friendly..i will be going back #ThankYou

I had a meal here on Wednesday night and it was unreal � always guaranteed a good meal. I had lamb for my main which was lovely then the trio dessert for after which was yummy. Food is amazing and the staff are friendly � Highly recommend �

Held my late husbands wake at The Duck, as this was our favourite restaurant.

From the first contact with Charlie and Helen to go through the menu with them it was carried out with great professional service everything was first class as always.

Had a wonderful meal here last week. Fabulous menu and fabulous meal. The food was perfect � the presentation everything was perfect. Delicious cocktails too. The staff were very professional. A fabulous evening was had by all. Would definitely recommend it here and we will be back soon.

Great little place in Ryde. Loved the food, the Minghella ice cream parlour upstairs is a fab idea, and great owners!

Excellent food in a very relaxed and comfortable restaurant. Wonderful staff who were attentive and visibly happy doing their job. Special mention to the chef on Saturday 6th June who made up some fresh custard for a member of our party, he was a very happy boy (grown man of 38 years)

Do you know what we like about The Duck? On each and every visit the food and service has been good. This is what makes a good restaurant, forget that it is nicely located, is a comfortable restaurant to sit in....the restaurant is consistently good. So go for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner and you will know and trust that the most important elements are going to be good. That is hard to beat, and impossible in Ryde! Nothing else compares I’m afraid. And you can take your baby, your child, your 90 year old relative or your business colleague there and everyone is catered for which is rare on this little island. Well done everyone!

Visited the Duck on Saturday evening, 7 in our group all first time & with great expectations as we had heard great reviews. Lovely place, spotlessly clean & nice friendly staff. Sadly three roasted lamb meals were ruined by raw in the middle, apologies from the chef & a free drink were offered! Rest of meals were good, hasn't put us off going again, but obviously needs to be checked in future. Appreciate some people's preference is pink with lamb, but this was red raw!🙁

Visited on Wednesday last week but can guarantee I won’t visit there again. We were a group of 8 and we went early as we had our youngest granddaughter with us, out of the 8 only two enjoyed their meal. I ordered the crab linguine and it was absolutely tasteless, my husband had the burger and said it was not enjoyable, even the four year old, who loves pasta wouldn’t eat any of her meal, we found out why, it was awful. The waitress who served us was very brusque and really wasn’t bothered if we had everything we wanted, not friendly, helpful or pleasant, not what you expect from a waiter in a restaurant.
