A huge thankyou to all out loyal regulars and all our new customers who have supported us this last week with our new menu. It has been a difficult week with extensive electrical work being done in the kitchen ( unexpected ).... but all done now. If we could ask one huge favour please which would improve our service ...please book whenever possible. This enables us to put the relevent staff required on and lessens your waiting time. We dont want people to be waiting an hour ...for food or waiting for tables. We don't double book our tables and would never ask someone to vacate their table. Booking allows us to stagger the food orders so you are served promptly. We want your visit to be a pleasant relaxed one. On a final note...watch out for an improved vegetarian menu with vegan options available and an improved gluten free menu and childrens menu. The menus have been done in such a way things can be added and removed very easily. If you have any suggestions or ideas for the menu please let us know. New menu from next tuesday. Still the old favourites but lots of new dishes. We will still be having the specials board so if we have taken off something u want ..chances are we can do it as a special for you. Any suggestions for the nenu...we still have time to add it if its a viable option.x

As of Monday 23rd July, we will be closing our kitchen on Mondays. The pub will open for drinks Monday tea time from 5pm and the kitchen will re-open as normal Tuesdays at 12pm with a brand new menu!!!

Apologies but there will be no toddler group tomorrow. We have several functions this week so the room has been cleared. It doesnt seem like it will be warm enough to have outside. Apologies xx.

Baby & Toddler group tomorrow is being held outside. Lets make the most of this beautiful sunshine 👍🕶🌻☀️🌞 we will have the paddling pool and water table out aswell so dont forget your suncream!!! (Theres seating in the shade for anyone not wanting to be in the sun) 9:30-11:30 £2.50 which includes coffee/tea and snacks

Dont forget Tuesday Mornings are our baby and Toddler Group 9:30 - 11:30. We've teamed up with Sure Start so there are activities to keep your little ones entertained and busy as well as the play area. £2.50 per child (£1 for every sibling) which includes refillable tea/coffee for parents and a snack plate for the kids. Come along this morning and join the fun (UPSTAIRS IN THE FUNCTION ROOM)

Our function room and bar will be open this Monday from 6:30pm for anyone wanting to watch the England match ⚽️ We also have the following deals on all England matches...... * Pie & peas and a pint for £7.50 * Burger & onions and a pint for £7.50. All welcome.

Thankyou to everyone who has responded to our advert for Staff. We are overwhelmed by the response and we are in the process of going through them all. All applications will be kept as jobs do become avaliable unexpectedly. Priority will be given to those who do not need to rely on public transport and to those looking for permanent work. *** Please Note *** We have tried very hard and put alot of effort and money into providing a nice safe enjoyable little play area for young children upstairs. On a few occasions the play area has been trashed.... the flooring pulled up toys broken misuse of the ball pool and our now broken pool table all down to older and mainly unsupervised older children. This has forced us to have to put an age limit on the children using our play area which is now children aged 0-5 years old and they MUST BE SUPERVISED BY PARENTS AT ALL TIMES!!! This is not a babysitting service this is a nice area where kids can play whilst you enjoy a meal and drink. We are sorry if this effects any families with older kids who did respect the area. We went for late lunch during a quiet time for customers, but couldn't fault the customer service or surroundings. The interior décor and outdoor seating area was very high quality. Added extra touches in the Ladies Room such as baby wipes, nappy bags, changing mat with toy mobile above; Sudocrem and nappies available at the bar, plus dog biscuits in the porch area, mean this is a very well planned establishment. The young lady behind the bar and the handful of regulars were very welcoming. If we lived locally, we would certainly return.

We took Oliver for breakfast with Santa this morning and it was lovely. The food was great (as usual), all staff were very attentive, Santa was his usual jolly self and a special thanks to Jingle the elf for keeping Oliver entertained ���. We’ll definitely be making it an annual event

We popped down for a drink this evening and ended up having tea. Excellent service, friendly staff, food was amazing and the new play area is fantastic! The staff even took time out to play a bit of pool with our 2 eldest before it got busy. Well done to the new management and massive thanks and appreciation to your lovely staff. Highly recommend visiting! We definitely will be visiting again. Thank you x

We came for a family meal on Friday for our daughters 5th birthday. The food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely recommend and we will be visiting again soon �

Visited yesterday and had the bbq menu. It was lovely food and great value for money. Great staff too. We also hired the upstairs room last year and would highly recommended the service and quality of food . 5 Stars

The food was very good. The service was timely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere was friendly and it was a most enjoyable experience. All of us in the party enjoyed themselves. Plenty of parking and the toilets were clean. Bonus of personal products available as well. Nice touch! Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

My wife & I decided to give the duke of Leeds a try for a meal last night having not been there for some time & I can tell you it was fantastic from start to finish . The staff were friendly , a good pint & the food was excellent . It’s great to have a local pub / restaurant on your doorstep so I highly recommend anyone to go there for a lovely night !

Lovely pub. I visit often with my children to use the upstairs room. they love it. and its nice to be able to go out as a family or with friends for food and the children don't have to sit still. they can play in a clean and safe play area. all staff are lovely, especially young girl behind the bar (sorry I don't know your name) she always makes us feel welcome and charms my little boy with lollies as we leave. Food is always lovely too. only negative thing I can say is that the upstairs room could do with abit of music on rather than silence.

also had my little girls birthday meal as a private event, also in the upstairs room in November. This was a large group, and we where given the choice to order food before but decided not to, so was told their may be a wait. there wasn't, the food all came out together, lovely and hot no problems other than the children's came last. but they where all given a free ice cream because of this. defo recommend.

Lovely pub, very modern but really cosy with the big open fires. Eaten here on several occasions and the food has always been excellent. The desserts are to die for. The staff are friendly helpful and go out of their way to help me with my wheelchair. My grandchildren were made very welcome and there were even some toys for them to play with. When we came in the summer there was a paddling pool and bouncy castle outside for children too. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat :-)

I went here with 11 other family members last week and the food was beautiful and staff lovely. I will be going again soon �

Had a lovely meal. Service was great and they even brought out a cake and sang happy birthday to the birthday girl. We have eaten here lots of times and have always had good food and good service. The Sunday lunches are the best. Well done to Jill and the staff for doing such a good job

Great place. Great staff. They didn't have what my daughter wanted on the menu. So went out of their way to make sure she was happy. We also had my grandson in his pram, which the staff made sure we were accommodated for. The food was delicious. Thanks Gill, Becky and the rest of the staff.

I sent a message and got a reply to book a table , on arrival they knew nothing of my booking . The two drinks my friend asked for Pepsi max and pineapple juice they didn’t have . We had Sunday lunch which was ok for the money . I used to go to this pub years ago and it was brilliant. I will go again and try something else on the menu in the future . But will ring to book next time . They did apologise for the misunderstanding and we did get a table anyway .
