We had a party of 15 booked in at 5p.m last saturday. As it was a large number, we pre-ordered food, which worked very well. MEGAN was our waitress and she was polite, friendly and very efficient and helpful. The food was very good and served promptly, as were our drinks. All contributed to making my daughter's 18th a great success.....thankyou to all the staff and especially Megan 😊

Visited the DoY today (12 October 2016) to treat my daughter to a well deserved lunch. I have to say there has been a vast improvement from a visit we made on 7th August which was abysmal.



All meals were excellent, service was excellent and our waitress (Nichola) was really very pleasant, which all added up to a pleasant afternoon.



Well done to the manager for turning this round (tried to post on Trip Advisor but it wouldn't let me). Will now look forward to our next visit.

Lovely cosy country pub! The GM always looks smart in his shirt and tank top and is fantastic with his guests! I will definitely return!!!

Just back from a lovely meal for my husband's birthday. Chose you for your vegan menu and i wasn't disappointed. I don't usually get such a choice when we eat out, all 3 courses were very tasty. First class service from Megan.

I pre-booked a table for 3 for dinner on Saturday 31 March, we were served by Megan who was lovely and attentive throughout our meal without imposing. We have eaten here a few times and the food is always good and nicely presented. Would recommend .

Had the lamb shank and was delicious! Did have to wait long time but waitress did apologise, she was very polite and efficient. Brought us a glass of water without asking, thought was a nice touch. Was busy and didn't feel was enough staff on duty.

Visited late afternoon today. The food was some of the nicest I’ve had in a long and we eat out a lot. Only downfall was from the service team........ they were very polite, however just took a while to clear plates, bring over drinks (1 didn’t even arrive)and wasn’t even asked at end how our meal was.



Will definitely visit and try again

Went yesterday , food overall good but had to wait quite a while for good and with four young children that didn't go down well - perhaps and off day but staff were polite and friendly - just the wait will try again without the kids lol

Visited here last night for my sons birthday, we did try and join the contact mailing list to receive a bottle of prosecco, but site was playing up so didn't succeed in that. (Missed out on the prosecco). We were told as soon as we sat down what wasn't available on the menu, not a great start. The waitresses were friendly, but not clued up about the menu. Food was ok, nicely presented, but I have had better elsewhere. Nice pub, decor is good and cosy. Would I go again?. Not sure 🤔

We visited the Duke of York on Mothers Day, our daughter was treating us to dinner. As soon as we sat down we were told that 3 of the dishes on the already limited menu were no longer available. This was disappointing. There were no replacements for the main courses that weren't available. Starters were ok, the mains were disappointing- my husband almost broke his tooth on some stone in the cabbage! We complained but only at the end of the meal did the manager come and see us. Although he gave us money off the meal, the problems spoilt the evening for us. It seems other diners were having similar problems - some had waited an hour for their desserts!!!! Won't be going back in a hurry I'm afraid. �

Staff were lovely!!!! Though we booked a table for 7:45 had to wait 15 min for our table, Not sure if this is normal then we had to wait a while for the food so wasn’t impressed and the food wasn’t great,



Overall it was ok, Won’t be returning but staff were all very helpful and did what they could!

Went for a birthday lunch on monday 28th May. My husband had an awful meal, ordered a medium to well done steak and it arrived, looked good but when he cut in to it, it looked like it was sat on his plate still mooing with its throat cut, blood everywhere. The one thing he did not want and had specified that to waitress, she was not bothered!!! Then ordered cheese and biscuits to be told they had run out at 1pm!! Settled on sticky toffee pudding and ice cream for it to come out with cream. NEVER AGAIN. Drive a little bit further and go to the White Hart at Blythburgh. Always an excellent experience, great food and friendly staff

We came in for lunch with our 11 month old, and after 20 minutes of being seated we still hadn't had any menus or been offered any drinks! Luckily we had our little ones lunch with us but wouldn't have sat still any longer (don't blame him) and after no one had even acknowledged us, after our little boy had finished his packed lunch - we decided enough was enough! Really disappointed.

We booked a table and arrived expecting Sunday roast. The waiter who showed us in confirmed roasts were available. 8 mins later when we ordered they weren't.

The food we then ordered came over 40 mins late, with the wrong items and dry from being kept warm (how ironic!) for too long. 20 mins after the wrong foods arrived they come over offering gravy and did we want them to cook some chips??? Err... No thanks... Too little too late. The assistant manager couldn't care less and when I complained about the incorrect food, dry food, missing items, cold food etc she snorted as if amused. Staff are untrained, lacking in basic service and people skills and the kitchen clearly can't cook food in a reasonable process.

Understaffed on a Bank Holiday Saturday afternoon, leading to rushed service (not the waitress' fault, she was doing the work of 3 people).



Undoubtedly the worst fish and chips I've ever had in my life. Having sent one lot back because it was basically just batter, and should not have left the kitchen in the first place, the replacement wasn't worth the money I spent on it.



The food used to be good here, but I would be extremely reluctant to eat here again.



I shall be sticking with the Fox at Newbourne. I haven't had a bad meal there.

Just come in now, waited to be seated. We wouldn't have minded but we were ignored. Then told our table was being made up and to get a drink from bar. Bar busy so we didnt get a drink, and then our table was ready. Sat there at table 17 for 25 minutes without even a "I'll be with you in a minute". Shocking service!! Hence, we went hungry.
