What an amazing day we had for our wedding reception absolutely exceptional service given by William and staff we felt like royalty nothing was to much trouble we would highly recommend as a wedding venue we can’t thank you enough for making our day so magical.

Stayed here on Thursday as I was attending a wedding in Doncaster on Good Friday. They allowed me an early check in and also allowed a few friends to get ready with me in my room on the Friday morning with a late check out at no extra cost. I ordered room service on the Thursday evening and the food was lovely. Also had a breakfast in the concerto restaurant which was also good. The bed was comfy had an amazing sleep and the bath was amazing (I love my baths) I would recommend staying here to anyone. Beautiful hotel with amazing staff.

Spent New Years Eve here for the gatsby Ball, the whole experience was amazing and the Ballroom was breath taking, I text my daughter a photo and she said , mum are you sure your not in Vegas, and that’s how it felt... it was beautiful!!!

The food was cooked to perfection and such highly quality and home cooked food, from the afternoon Tea to New Years Day breakfast it was all superb!!

Our Room was spotlessly clean, with everything inside you could think of, from iron, hairdryer to tea, coffee, bottled water and toiletries!!!

The staff worked extremely Hard, and were non stop but they were all very friendly and went out of your way to help

All in all our Experience at the Earl for the New Years Eve Ball was a truly unforgettable Experience..... I can’t thank you all enough!!!

On my first ever visit today to The Earl today for an afternoon tea treat gift.

What a wonderful treat; special thanks to host Andrea, servers and the chef's we didn't get to see but who produced the most delicious cakes, brownies, shortbread, sandwiches and scones.

Thank you for the additional sparkling shortbread for my husband - definitely the tastiest shortbread I've ever had and I'm sure he will be very grateful too.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Mother's day afternoon tea, lovely fresh selection of assorted sandwiches, several choices of cakes and scones with jam and cream tea and coffee in glamorous surroundings, so lovely to spend time with my family

Just left the Earl after having afternoon tea for my nannas birthday. It was so nice and more than enough food, unlimited tea and coffee and the staff were all lovely and very helpful. Will definitely be returning again. Thankyou

Have just got home from our Christmas works do..in January! There were 7 of us for afternoon tea. 4 of us upgraded to the tipsy option so had unlimited prosecco. Best afternoon tea we've all had with excellent service, fresh sandwiches and amazing, soft scones. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Earl to anyone based on today's experience. Thanks very much to all.

Called into the Earl of Doncaster last night, this was just my wife and I for a drink on the way to meeting some friend's.

This is right on my door step and why we have not called in previously I do not know.

Very elegant and artdeco a truly beautiful building on the inside

Shall definitely have to call in more.

Beautiful hotel within walking distance of the town centre and just a hop from the Park. Rooms are lovely, clean, bright and modern. All staff are friendly, nothing too much trouble. If only you visit to experience the Art Deco furnishings, it's worth it, a beautiful experience

5 stars is not a high enough rating for this outstanding venue. The staff are a real credit to The Earl and the Earl is truly a credit to Doncaster! Graham went above and beyond to make our day so special and unique, i cannot express our graditude in word's! The bridal suite is outstanding and the afternoon tea was exceptional and enjoyed by all from age 9 to 91, especially the scones!!! We really cannot thank you enough,

Mr and Mrs Langstaff.

Love this hotel, the family have stayed here 4 times as we live in South London and visit family in Doncaster. The decor is amazing and the staff are friendly, polite and efficient. The premier rooms are amazing. The only reason why I have not given 5 stars is the breakfast is not great the kipper is very small, smoked haddock very dry and only half a tomato could you not stretch to 2 halves on each plate but we will always return.

User

Booked a Sunday lunch on Fathers day for my husband and I.(our Kids were working on the Sunday so we had celebrated on the Saturday evening). The meal was to die for ...everything absolutely beautiful and cooked to perfection. The staff were lovely too and very helpful. We will definitely be going back again for Sunday Lunch

Just been for a Disney afternoon tea, all in all it was a nice experience just 2 points! I would have likes to see a few princess or charactors walking around (plenty of waitress young girls that could have dressed up to add to the experience) Also the amount of food we were given between 4 was the same as what we got between 2 on other afternoon teas attended at the earl so felt a little disappointed in value for money in retrospect.

User

I went to the Disney afternoon tea and was disappointed. The pictures they used to sell it were great but the actual cakes and things we were served were nothing like. It said Disney films been shown on big screen my tv is bigger, there was no sound to the film if you listened closely you could hear some music. I have been to better afternoon tea which was nearly half the price. I don't class a bit if laminated a picture prop. Won't be returning.

User

Went to the Disney afternoon tea and I'm sorry but was no where near worth what was charged! There was no Disney movies on, the DJ barely played Disney songs, the tables weren't the best effort and many waitresses/waiters but not one asked if we were ok , needed anything etc, the afternoon tea itself was pitiful for what we were charged and shared between three of us, I'd of thought there would've been lots more effort with the tables eg things for the kids to do, masks, etc and maybe even a Disney princess or two come in too see the children?? We barely stayed the hour so incredibly disappointed

User

We visited on Good Friday for the Disney Afternoon Tea. Really disappointing. Once we were seated the staff couldn’t get away quick enough. We were a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 children. There simply wasn’t enough to eat, the sandwiches were rather dry, all the tables seemed to be served the same irrespective of numbers. The scones were served with a packet of shop bought cream and no Jam! The disney themed centre pieces left alot to the imagination. No one appeared after the food had been left to ask if everything was ok. Any drinks we wanted other than the provided tea we had to go to the bar and get ourselves. The girls were bored they couldnt see nor hear the Disney film being played. We left hungry and disappointed. Certainly was not worth the cost!

User

Most of the staff were lovely and the venue itself beautiful but the three course sit down meal was horrific!!! Worst food I have ever tasted. We were there for a party and I chose for the starter course prawn cocktail which was ok, but the main course which was tikka masala was revolting - it tasted like it was from a jar and warmed up in the microwave. The rice tasted like boil in the bag that had been reheated. The bar was also insanely overpriced. So many of the guests there were complaining about the horrible food

User

Just got back from our mother's day meal, I've had to pick up a cheeseburger on the way home to fill myself up! Let's start where all meals start - with the starter: actual main content (I had pancake) wasn't too bad, however the copious amounts of Heinz salad cream over the salad really detracted from any taste!

Next we come to the main, so let's be clear here, I know it's mother's day and busy so I didn't imagine everything would be perfect! What I did expect was our orders to at least be correct! We ordered 6 pork and 1 beef... out came 4 beef and 2 pork (I will stress here the waitress offered to change, but we're English and causing a fuss would've meant apologising profusely for the rest of the meal), and then there was the standard! Meat was dry and cold, string beans had gone so much over they had that horrible texture where they squeak on your teeth and the cabbage had clearly been stood for so long it was essentially a watery mash - which was juxtaposed to the actual lumpy mash!

After this came what can only be described as an insult. So... brownies tasted good and I was pleased with mine, I wasn't particularly pleased by the nut I found in my daughter's, I usually wouldn't care about this, I'm not allergic, but after struggling through the first 2 courses this just really annoyed me. The grandparents ordered a crumble, out came a 'deconstructed' crumble. However, this was clearly a 'we have misjudged the amount of food we need how can we save food' crumble. Then came out the straw that broke the camel's back! The menu said strawberries and cream, now, it was definitely plural. What came out was 2 seperate 1/4 pieces of a strawberry with some cream. I kid you not! A grand total of half a strawberry! It was an absolute insult to describe that pudding anything other than just 'cream with garnish!'

And it looked like Liberace's cave in there!

I would highly recommend you avoid the earl if you're looking to enjoy your evening.

We booked a table for 6 people to celebrate a 60th birthday. We arrived at 20 minutes early, made them aware we'd arrived & had a drink in the bar, we were slightly unnerved by the lack of people dining on a Saturday evening.... & now we know why!

We were asked at 7.45 if we were ready as the kitchen was closing at 8! So we were shown to a table in the near empty dining room, we ordered & this is where the whole evening took a nose dive.... 4 of our party ordered & after a rather long 40 minute wait were delivered a plate of food that was cooked & reasonably edible, the other 2 of us had ordered fillet steak (rare) & this is where the evening unraveled a lot faster than the food was being cooked.

Now I like my steak rare but not raw & chilled in the middle so we asked for it to be re cooked, they sent out two more again after a wait longer than the cooking of a rare steak in an empty restaurant & somehow had managed to show the steak to the cooker for even less time than the previous ones! Again we complained to the waitress who told us that is definitely what a rare steak is like (I've had steak tartare that's seen the heat longer than that steak had!!) so in comes the manager who tried to convince us it was definitely rare & rare steak will be cold! We gave up returned our full plates & he ever so kindly removed them from the bill!! My advice stay home & order a pizza, saves having to order one on your way home!
