Welcome to THE EARL SPENCER a gastro pub where we specialise in freshly prepared and cooked food in a traditional pub atmosphere. We are only 5 minutes’ walk from Southfields tube, situated at 260-262 Merton Road, Southfields, London, SW18 5JL.

Warm and friendly staff. Good selection of well kept real ale and wines. Lovely food and service. Thank you.
Totally charming, thoroughly welcoming, and totally recommended! Visited to sample the fine selection of ales and gins then stayed on for dinner. Blown away by the selection and superb hospitality in this beautiful pub in Wimbledon. My wife and I sampled the chicken liver parfait, charred prawns and crumbed cheese croquettes. We followed with a superb steak and chicken main course.
In fact we loved this place so much, we returned for their legendary Sunday roast the next day. The Earl Spencer has obviously become quite an institution around these parts - all credit due to the fastidious management by the landlords Mike and Jill and their well chosen team. There's absolutely no doubt that when we next return to London this will be our first port of call!
This place is the quintessential hidden gem. The Earl Spencer has food to die for, fantastic ales and friendly staff. The fillet of cod and wild mushroom risotto are sensational, however the slow braised lamb shoulder tops the lot. I've eaten here three times whilst covering the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and every visit is surprisingly better than the last. Love the place!!!
Really enjoyed our lunch. Fabulously tasting food and very reasonably priced including the house wine. We will go again, very soon...

We celebrated our son's 18th birthday with a meal at The Earl Spencer. Nice food and a nice environment.
Very good wine selection and a good range of pub food that is truly gastropub. Well worth a visit as the service is low key but very welcoming.
Recently had my son's 25th birthday dinner in the Upper Room at Earl Spencer and it was a roaring success. The food was delicious, the staff worked very hard and made us feel very relaxed and welcome - all 33 of us! I would thoroughly recommended it . Jennie
Went in this evening for a beer or two with a mate. Far too warm and too many babies in prams.
The stench from the fermenting nappies was appalling.
Really disappointing meal this evening, very bland, lacking seasoning & flavour & components incompatible, chicken over cooked & not oozing garlic butter as a Kiev should. Thought the menu in general was very poor.
