A lovely place that I must've walked past 100 times without really realising it was there. A great alternative to the already-great Britannia if you fancy something a bit more fancy.

2nd visit, absolutely loved it once again. Lovely rooms, great good and excellent, friendly service.
The venue was superb. Love the old style building dated from the 1700s. The setting and the scenery surrounding are gorgeous. Your met with a lovely smell of burning wood when you open the door of the car. Enter the bar area to be presented with an open fire and a variety of locally produced ales and lager. Polite, efficient and friendly staff greet you and tend to your need. Great place to go for a quiet drink to get away from the busy and tourist filled windermere!
Meal for five at late notice was amazing and made the holiday. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, comfortable atmosphere.
