Congratulations Jake Poynter our BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality student competed for the Institute of Hospitality Management student of the year. Jake was awarded the runner up position. His tutors, Mark Alderman, Sarah Gault, Josephine Pearce and Judith Grandjean attended the award ceremony at The Balmer Lawn Hotel. Jake was well supported by Mum, Dad, sister and his lovely girlfriend. The General Manager Michael Clitheroe is an ex-BTEC student giving us pride in our work with the young.

Oh! What a night! A fiesta to be remembered! Audience shouted Tequila to tune, Mexican wave and trying to pin hat to cactus! The BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality & Events planned and managed Mexican Fiesta with such fun for themselves and the customers giving us 👍👏👏👏Dorset Mind charity was supported by this event👍

📺 Tune into BBC South Today this evening at 6.30pm as we are going to be on the tv! Last night we teamed up with the Dorset Blind Association to offer a ‘dining in the dark’ experience.
Our students cooked and served a surprise 6 course dinner to diners who had the opportunity to eat their meal blindfolded.
