The Farmhouse Beefeater

We went yesterday and everything was excellent, food was well presented and cooked. Staff were very pleasant and service was great. Definitely value for money.

We visited on fathers day, the service, food and generally atmosphere was amazing! All the staff were so helpful and cheerful. Bradley was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for a wonderful family meal.

Absolutely amazing we visited this morning for my son's birthday breakfast and they offered and provided balloons with no hesitation. Then when we were about half way through they presented 3 little cakes with candles in on a nicely decorated plate and sang happy birthday. This was completely unpromptwd and my son loved it 5 ☆ service xx

First time going for a meal since the refurbishment

We had two meals , the chicken and rib combo and the mixed grill

All the meats on the mixed grill were cooked very well and the chicken was juicy and soft on the combo

The ribs were extremely tasty with the sauce

The only downsides were the waiting time from asking for our drinks to be refilled to receiving them

Also on the meal the onion rings weren’t cooked fully ,the mushroom or the corn on the cob

We also had a 40% off voucher to use for the meals which made the meal quite reasonable

As the prices for some of the meals is expensive

Such a shame because have been here many times and always had good service 7 of us went tonight as a leaving meal for my daughter going to uni, the restaurant was very busy but you need to staff it accordingly! We waited for an hour for our mains the table next to us had been there 2 hours only had a starter they got up and left! Your waitresses were lovely but rushed off their feet manager apologised saying lots of large parties in and they were a chef down but a relief chef should have been bought in, the food was nice when it came but had to wait a while for sauces vinegar etc sorry just not good enough �

Food was generally okay... and at first service was okay...but it took ages for someone to come and take a desert order and had to go and find a waitress..when she came to the table she just said I hear you want a desert! we were close to just not bothering it took so long...would we go again well we last went a year ago and service was pretty much the same then so it will probably be another yr before we go back! Food was okay but a little on the expensive side and service is letting it down ...could be better so don't expect too much then you might be pleased!

Went again on 08/02/2018 I met my sister and her friend here who had already ordered my meal they ordered at 12:40 and at around 1:15pm a member of staff came over to tell us the food was on the way (2xsteak and chips and the ‘new’ chicken makhani curry) except the curry wasn’t chicken like it stated on the menu it was lamb, so I proceeded to tell the guy I didn’t like lamb so he offered me a chicken sandwich, which no of course I didn’t want after I had ordered a curry. So this guy left as I said no I didn’t want anything else for the waitress to then come over and offer her apologies as apparently between the two chefs they both thought the other was making my meal, which to me isn’t acceptable anyway because even if they did have my meal, I would have had to wait and would be eating alone. Overall rubbish experience and will not be going back.

Wouldn’t even give it 1 star ! Food was horrific starter inedible everything burnt to a crisp ! Chef couldn’t even cook an egg !!! Completely burnt and when asked if all ok my other half said no it’s inedible and charged us full price !! Disgusting we will not go back avoid

When I asked a waiter if we could order he told me ‘you will have to bare with me I have had 4 tables just come through the door’ very unprofessional if you ask me! After waiting nearly an hour for food once we had placed our order, it came and we were very disappointed, we didn’t even have any cutlery on the table! The food was cold, nobody came round to ask how the food was or if we even wanted another drink! Awful service and rubbish food. Very unprofessional staff - think his name was peter! He needs a good talking too or maybe find another job he would be better at.. no customer service what so ever! Will not be recommending and defiantly will not be returning!!!!!

Real shame as my Steak was cooked great just a shame that I had to leave over half of it due to the fat etc, sorry if you ask us to upgrade to a sirloin, you just serve rump and expect to get away with it ? (I'm being generous it may well have been a worse cut, as only half was edible).... And what was the point in ordering a sauce with my meal, it finally turned up 23 minutes later!

We waited over 1 and a half hours for our food when it eventually came out we had to send it back as it wasnt cooked properly or over cooked (burnt) definitely will NOT be returning way over priced for the meal you get �

We stayed in the premier inn and had our breakfast here no butter for toast no plates to put toast on very little fruit on the self service table the coffee was cold and when I asked for fresh coffee the waiter returned with the same coffee after adding some warm water so the coffee was now weak and cold not fresh coffee

Waited over half an hour for starters and only came after we asked another hour later no mains had to chase them as well shocking and then the steak was undercooked had to send it back ����

Very poor no food they had no stakes very limited what you could order but it’s the same all the time you go not because it’s busy I don’t think they order enough. Takes ages for a drink to arrive or even when your at the bar

I checked on the website and it showed I could make a table reservation for 945, so we knew we were OK. Arrived there just before 945 and was told by a lady she wasn't sure if they were still serving so went in the kitchen. She came out reiterated that she still wasn't sure and asked what we would want. I said we would just have a drink and a main course. She said she would have to check with the manager and went off to the hotel. Finally we were told by we could eat so long as we sat in the bar area and ordered at the bar. We quickly chose our meals, went to the bar asked to order, and the reply was "you had better be quick". We sat down and could see the kitchen staff talking and looking over at us. We got our food quick, my triple cooked chips were served as barely cooked fries but I could let that go but my husbands pie was freezing. We saw the manager and told him about the pie, he picked the plate up without saying a word. Unbelievably rude. He returned to say they had no more pies and they could either heat it up or we could choose something else. Still no apology so we asked for our money back, as at this point we just wanted to get out of there. the manager brought the cash (even though I paid on card) and we walked out and won't be coming back.

Thought we would have a bite to been busy all day. So disappointed, I ordered the tender beef strips on warm ciabatta bread with mushrooms. It came the mushrooms stone cold took it back the mushrooms hot but the meat was like rubber ! The dogs enjoyed it. On the good side the cup of tea was great and The staff friendly.

Last time I came here I was less than impressed and I see nothing has changed. Waited 40 minutes for 5 kids meals and 6 starters and they were sporadic when they arrived. Then another 30 minute wait for 10 mains. I wouldn't mind if the place was packed but it was nearly empty. Three members of staff that I could see in the kitchen and they can't cope with roughly 5 tables. God knows how they manage when it's busy. One member of kitchen staff was stood there on his phone so maybe that explains the extremely slow service, too busy checking his Snapchat to actually do his job. No apology from anyone, no mention of a waiting time but with the severe lack of customers there shouldn't have been one. I definitely won't be going again, everything is over priced and quite frankly they can't manage to do their jobs!!

Wouldn’t even give it 1 star ! Food was horrific starter inedible everything burnt to a crisp ! Chef couldn’t even cook an egg !!! Completely burnt and when asked if all ok my other half said no it’s inedible and charged us full price !! Disgusting we will not go back avoid

When I asked a waiter if we could order he told me ‘you will have to bare with me I have had 4 tables just come through the door’ very unprofessional if you ask me! After waiting nearly an hour for food once we had placed our order, it came and we were very disappointed, we didn’t even have any cutlery on the table! The food was cold, nobody came round to ask how the food was or if we even wanted another drink! Awful service and rubbish food. Very unprofessional staff - think his name was peter! He needs a good talking too or maybe find another job he would be better at.. no customer service what so ever! Will not be recommending and defiantly will not be returning!!!!!

Real shame as my Steak was cooked great just a shame that I had to leave over half of it due to the fat etc, sorry if you ask us to upgrade to a sirloin, you just serve rump and expect to get away with it ? (I'm being generous it may well have been a worse cut, as only half was edible).... And what was the point in ordering a sauce with my meal, it finally turned up 23 minutes later!

We waited over 1 and a half hours for our food when it eventually came out we had to send it back as it wasnt cooked properly or over cooked (burnt) definitely will NOT be returning way over priced for the meal you get �

We stayed in the premier inn and had our breakfast here no butter for toast no plates to put toast on very little fruit on the self service table the coffee was cold and when I asked for fresh coffee the waiter returned with the same coffee after adding some warm water so the coffee was now weak and cold not fresh coffee

Waited over half an hour for starters and only came after we asked another hour later no mains had to chase them as well shocking and then the steak was undercooked had to send it back ����

Last night it was after 9pm before we were able to go and eat and wanting pub food Beefeater were the obvious choice as they serve until 10pm. It was 915pm. I checked on the website and it showed I could make a table reservation for 945, so we knew we were OK. Arrived there just before 945 and was told by a lady she wasn't sure if they were still serving so went in the kitchen. She came out reiterated that she still wasn't sure and asked what we would want. I said we would just have a drink and a main course. She said she would have to check with the manager and went off to the hotel. Finally we were told by we could eat so long as we sat in the bar area and ordered at the bar. We quickly chose our meals, went to the bar asked to order, and the reply was "you had better be quick". We sat down and could see the kitchen staff talking and looking over at us. We got our food quick, my triple cooked chips were served as barely cooked fries but I could let that go but my husbands pie was freezing. We saw the manager and told him about the pie, he picked the plate up without saying a word. Unbelievably rude. He returned to say they had no more pies and they could either heat it up or we could choose something else. Still no apology so we asked for our money back, as at this point we just wanted to get out of there. the manager brought the cash (even though I paid on card) and we walked out and won't be coming back.

Thought we would have a bite to been busy all day. So disappointed, I ordered the tender beef strips on warm ciabatta bread with mushrooms. It came the mushrooms stone cold took it back the mushrooms hot but the meat was like rubber ! The dogs enjoyed it. On the good side the cup of tea was great and The staff friendly.

Last time I came here I was less than impressed and I see nothing has changed. Waited 40 minutes for 5 kids meals and 6 starters and they were sporadic when they arrived. Then another 30 minute wait for 10 mains. I wouldn't mind if the place was packed but it was nearly empty. Three members of staff that I could see in the kitchen and they can't cope with roughly 5 tables. God knows how they manage when it's busy. One member of kitchen staff was stood there on his phone so maybe that explains the extremely slow service, too busy checking his Snapchat to actually do his job. No apology from anyone, no mention of a waiting time but with the severe lack of customers there shouldn't have been one. I definitely won't be going again, everything is over priced and quite frankly they can't manage to do their jobs!!

We visited on fathers day, the service, food and generally atmosphere was amazing! All the staff were so helpful and cheerful. Bradley was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for a wonderful family meal.

Absolutely amazing we visited this morning for my son's birthday breakfast and they offered and provided balloons with no hesitation. Then when we were about half way through they presented 3 little cakes with candles in on a nicely decorated plate and sang happy birthday. This was completely unpromptwd and my son loved it 5 ☆ service xx

We had two meals , the chicken and rib combo and the mixed grill

All the meats on the mixed grill were cooked very well and the chicken was juicy and soft on the combo

The ribs were extremely tasty with the sauce

The only downsides were the waiting time from asking for our drinks to be refilled to receiving them

Also on the meal the onion rings weren’t cooked fully ,the mushroom or the corn on the cob

We also had a 40% off voucher to use for the meals which made the meal quite reasonable

As the prices for some of the meals is expensive

Such a shame because have been here many times and always had good service 7 of us went tonight as a leaving meal for my daughter going to uni, the restaurant was very busy but you need to staff it accordingly! We waited for an hour for our mains the table next to us had been there 2 hours only had a starter they got up and left! So this guy left as I said no I didn’t want anything else for the waitress to then come over and offer her apologies as apparently between the two chefs they both thought the other was making my meal, which to me isn’t acceptable anyway because even if they did have my meal, I would have had to wait and would be eating alone. Overall rubbish experience and will not be going back.
