Very friendly staff and great food well worth a visit

User

This is the fourth summer we have visited you and this year was by far the best! We always come because we love the setting by the river but the menu has always felt a bit limited and the food has been fine but not fantastic. Today the menu was more interesting and varied and the food tasted absolutely fantastic - thank you to Charlie the Chef! The service was brilliant - great team of staff, all of whom were attentive and made our young children feel welcome. The food arrived quickly - overall a great experience thank you!

User

Really nice food. Helpful friendly staff and amazing views. What's not to like.

User

User

Haven't been here for about 4 years but had to include it on our recent trip back. Loved the new look and the food was terrific my daughters chef boyfriend was well impressed. As on previous visits was not disappointed.

User

Great setting, good food, nice staff.

User

User

Good food , relaxed friendly staff and of course the views ;)

User

Fantastic 5 hours spent relaxing there yesterday, excellent bar service and the football was sorted as well, thanks guys.

User

Fabulous Sunday roast on Mother's day! Friendly staff, great gin selection and the roast sirloin of beef and vegetables were cooked to perfection. Two of our party chose fish and and chips and an open steak sandwich and both were delicious. The sticky toffee pudding sealed the deal . . . The little gift to the Mums of a bunch of daffodils was a really thoughtful touch. Looking forward to our next visit.

User

Excellent fish lunch, friendly staff, beautiful location.

User

A fabulous establishment in a beautiful location. The staff are polite, informative and attentive without being obvious. The food ... absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a light lunch of crayfish tails in a toasted bun and mackerel tacos with a beetroot harissa mayo. Good ale and a totally relaxed atmosphere added to our enjoyment. Thank you very much and see you again soon ...

The Ferry Boat, having changed hands is looking far better than it has for a while, it is clean, decorated in modern contemporary colours which fit with its stunning location. For those that have been before the bar has now been moved creating a lovely area for those that wish to just have a drink. It also means the food area has a less hectic atmosphere than in previous years. So far we have tried the prawns, steak, club sandwich and the burger all of which were of an excellent standard! The Ferry Boat Inn has changed hands many times over the years and it will no doubt kick up lots of challenges! Good luck to the new owners and keep it simple it's great..

Lovely lunch

After a rather lengthy walk from mawnan church stopped for lunch at the Ferryboat Inn. Had a beautiful Cesar salad and the tacos. Delicious! Beautiful setting too, overlooking the helford passage. Will definitely be a regular there whenever we are on that side of the river.

User

Impromptu visit for lunch & a walk. Had the fish pie which was delicious & plenty of fish. Shared a table as it was as busy as usual. Weather stayed good for the visitors & a good buzz about the place. Talking about buzz, there were lots of wasps hanging about but that can't be helped. Better now the new owners have dispensed with the hanging baskets....although glorious, they encouraged the little buzzers!!

I had heard of this mythical place called The Ferryboat Inn but had never took the time to visit it. Well now I have and I'll soon be back again . Maybe it was the weather or the friends I had gone with but it exceeded my expectations. Great location ,excellent food . A bit of a wait but freshness can't be rushed and while the tide was out the kids had a safe beach to play on. It's certainly a place we would come back to sans the children .

User

We were looking forward to a nice meal at the end of a long walk, the location is stunning and when the sun shines it's hard to beat. However, the food wasn't as good as we hoped, the childrens menu had three options one of which was not available, I ordered mussels and this too was not available. We ordered alternatives, and this arrived in good time but was lukewarm / cold although very tasty. As the children were hungry and we lacked time we ate. I ordered a childrens meal for £5.95 which was great value, but was asked for a further 95p for each ice cream, as apparantly I was only charged £5 as there is no option for childrens meal on the till ? One other thing was that we cleared the table we sat at and popped it on the table next to us, it took nearly two hours for this to be cleared. It's a great venue, and could be excellent, we'll be back and hope that they sort these bits out. Worth mentioning the staff were very polite and helpful, just think a few things are being overlooked !
