What a great find, on our way home and we just decided to pull into this place. Friendly staff, great food and quite reasonably priced. We will be in again when we are in the area.
Went for daughters 21st..choice of food was excellent...catered for son who is vegetarian and gave us choice of changes to daughters meals as she is dairy free..service was fab especially as there were other large parties at the same time..the pub itself is in a lovely location with ample parking...would thoroughly recommend
We stumbled upon this delightful pub whilst looking for somewhere to eat lunch.
The pub itself is charming, the staff are very welcoming and the menu is certainly very impressive!
We can't wait to come back
We have been regular visitors here for many years now, our food yesterday was up to our normal expectations, service excellent, cleanliness excellent, well recommended
Very nice food and good service with nice helpful friendly staff and they allow dog's and children inside our meal was well presented and tasted great too xxx
There was a wait for food as they were short staff. They told us so we has a choice to wait or not. They were all very helpful.. food was lovely. They also welcomed our dog x
The staff were very welcoming to our party of 7 adults, 3 children and 5 well behaved dogs!! The service was friendly and excellent and our roast dinners were excellent. I would not hesitate in recommending the Filly Inn to anyone. Thank you Harry, Ruth and staff for making our birthday celebrations special.
The food was awesome!! New owners are so lovely and I already love it here!
5*/5* for food and atmosphere!
The food was amazing, huge portions! The staff were warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back.
Stopped off here for a bite to eat and drink. Had ribeye steak was perfect. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely pub. Thank you.
Stopped here in our Motorhome for the night. No charge if you eat! A small personal menu that’s cooked freshly and was excellent! Friendly staff and as it was New Year’s Eve were treated to folk music provided by the owners! A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you - we’ll definitely be back!
Nice food, friendly staff, service was very good considering it was a very busy Sunday lunch time, a very nice country pub, well recommended.
My wife and myself came across you by accident 2/3 years ago on a drive through the forest, and thought we would check it out. 2 things have remained constant on all our visits, 1) the high quality of the food and 2) the exceptional professional friendly staff. Although we live in Bournemouth, this is now our favourite restaurant when we want to eat out.
My favourite place for a Sunday roast, highly recommend! Always friendly, great service and very welcoming. Looking forward to my next visit already.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this pub today. Excellent service and food delicious. Lovely that dogs are so warmly welcomed.
Me and my girlfriend stopped off by chance on our way past, we couldn't fault a single thing. Absolutely would recommend to anyone, the burgers were especially nice!
Lovely sunday roast at this super pub...Lovely people especially Andy ....will see you again soon xx
Lovely place, great staff, food and drink. Very friendly Inn with a lovely atmosphere.
Lovely friendly place and we're happy for us to stay in our motor home over night as long as we were having a meal which was excellent , very dog friendly and even he was greeted with a treat .
Went back for a second night as food and staff were great
Thankyou x
Love this friendly pub. Dogs welcome and a nice garden with lots of room around the tables and places for the children to move about without being cramped. Also been here for a quite couples weekend and totally loved this old pub. Parking also just across the road for a walk in the NF where lots of pony's and cows hangout. The food is dam tasty too. 5* from us.
Love it everytime we eat here. Staff fabulous and helpful food always so tasty hense we go back everytime we are in the New forest.
Incredible quality food. The black pudding hash with duck egg was perfect. I tasted the risotto and that was the best I've tasted perhaps in this country. My partner had the aubergine which she said was excellent. Even the chips and onion rings were better than standard pub food. Not cheap BUT good value.
I have to say I don't usually write reviews, but I am moved to do so having called into the Filly Inn yesterday after a great walk in the forest with my wife and in-laws. We turned up at about 11.30am, desperate for a thirst quencher, when the staff were getting ready for the Mothers Day pub lunch onslaught. Despite this, the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We sat outside in their pretty, modern beer garden enjoying the sun and decided to stay for another drink. Going back to the bar, I was amazed that the staff remembered our order despite the pub now being full of diners. So we stayed for another. At which point whom I assume was the landlady carried round a tray of bucks fizz for all the Mothers amongst the patrons - a fantastic touch, especially for those like ourselves who weren't even eating. But we will be back to eat at some point - the menu looked fantastic, full of classics and the food looked great when coming out (huge Yorkshires)! 5 out of 5.
Great place, lovely staff, great food and drink!!! You feel at home the moment you enter the "Filly Inn", or you spend some time in the nice beer garden with all the wonderful flowers. We already miss it!!!
First visit to this lovely pub and i must say it will not be are last food and drink was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
First time I’ve been here what an absolutely delicious meal. I had ham, egg and chips, well very tastefully done with a twist. I definitely will be back. Outstanding.
Fantastic place to visit, staff are friendly, food amazing. Love to come again. Thank you!
Called in to this amazing Inn, on way home from a surprise birthday weekend in the New Forest.
4 Adults 3 Children, we sat outside in the garden under a sturdy wooden structure, to keep run off. All but 2 meals on menu could be halved to cater for children. Two of us had the Filly special burger, which was sssooo big and delicious. The others had roasts, which were also huge and came with lovely fresh veg.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend and return.
We called in late afternoon on the off chance, having never heard of the restaurant before.
The menu offers a good variety of both vegetarian and meat dishes. Although maybe slightly on the expensive side, the food was top quality.
5 stars for the food and the service (more if I could).
4 stars for the prices. I have eaten in a few similar places and the Filly is a little more expensive.
Overall 4 stars. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back soon.
Stopped for Sunday lunch very good, nice staff, will go again.
Lovely Sunday lunch although it was very busy yesterday so there was a wait for service. I had the smoked mackerel starter which was seasoned beautifully and my husband had the black pudding scotch egg which he enjoyed. A lamb and a beef roast dinner were both generous portions served with a good variety of veg.
Last in this place 5yrs ago, must say after a long walk on a forest trail, the cold beers went down well, couple of games of boulle with son-in-law and izzy and darcey, good beer good company and a bloody good pub.
An interesting menu - not your standard pub-grub fare - which was very tasty and very well presented.
The menu was quite limited to start with and then half of it wasn’t available. Good quality when it turned up but wouldn’t recommend the Filly to people due to poor menu choice.
Outside run down and told they stop serving food at 4pm on a Sunday!!!
Totally let down food was burnt and one item on menu was certainly not as it was advertised no apology from manager just said that's how u cook chicken !! Such a shame as all the other places we visited were amazing ruined our last eve staying in the new forest.wont be visiting again !!
Thought we'd try a different local. Good menu but 30 mins after ordering were told they'd run out of half the food we'd ordered. Then sent the most junior member of staff out to break the same bad news to a table of 10 sat beside us. Poor management and no offer to try and make us stay or entice us back. Won't be giving the Filly Inn a second chance!!
Quiet Easter Monday lunch (loads of tables free) so didn't expect to wait 40 minutes for our food. Cold skinny fries sent back & replaced however could not forgive the lukewarm overcooked burger.
Too many menus (3 offered), loads of staff, lack of management and very poor performance. A real shame what was one of my favourite places to eat in Brockenhurst but is off limits after this experience.
A sincere apology and an offer to put right might have avoided this review.
