We went to the Grill night and TOTALLY recommend it. Our sirloin steaks were cooked to perfection, both medium and well done, the chips were chunky, crisp and full of flavour and the side salad was varied and colourful. As for the puddings, we tried a slice of lemon tart, which was zesty and light with a buttery pastry base. The honeycomb cheesecake was creamy with a combination of textures and a terrific topping of chocolate covered honeycomb pieces. Two courses for the bargain price of £20 each. Seriously good food and well worth a visit.
Visited for the first time on Friday evening (25th May 2018) for an early birthday meal, the food was fantastic, there was a great atmosphere & staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great food, great service and great surroundings. I can't praise the Finch Hatton arms enough & would recommend people to pay a visit x
This is a long overdue review as my husband and I were married here in early July!
The Finch Hatton Arms played a huge part in our wedding process from the moment we first visited. We came again for a second time with family and had made our minds up with certainty; The Finch it was!
We had originally booked our date with different management and had not been told that it had changed, so when it came to organising and starting to decorate, there was some confusion over what we were allowed to do. This was due to miscommunication from both parties but was sorted out politely through many meetings and emails.
The actual day saw tremendous amounts of support from the staff and venue - especially when it came to calming nerves! A lavender gin (with fresh lavender from the gardens) was the perfect anecdote the night before.
Food was splendid (we opted for a champagne Afternoon Tea and cooked dinners - vegetarian and non-vegetarian - in the evening) with close attention paid to presentation. The taste was out of this world!
Many of our guests stayed at the hotel and had a continental breakfast; we heard no complaints. My husband and I had the bridal suite which had a freestanding bath and looked amazing. Note: I did somehow flood the shower on the day of the wedding and spent my morning mopping it up!
This was the first wedding the venue put on since the management changed and I do believe our day was absolutely perfect. Staff were smiling and cheerful throughout, and they felt like a crucial cog in the day, mingling with guests and doing their absolute best to entertain and deliver.
Thank you to The Finch Hatton Arms and their staff for our perfect wedding day. (And also our Mr & Mrs mugs!)
Lovely place with fantastic food and such friendly staff! I visit often with my family and visited yesterday evening for a birthday celebration and everything was outstanding!

Been here today for afternoon tea, try to go somewhere different every week ,this is one of the best, delicious food,outstanding staff and a lovely warm atmosphere on a cold winters afternoon. Would highly recommend and we shall definitely be returning.

Always loved this place, stayed here after our wedding, had meals here and last weekend my baby shower was here! Cannot fault the staff at all, food was amazing, room looked fabulous (partly down to my friends) atmoshepere was perfect!! Will of course cone again and reccomened it to everyone we know.
