Our favourite day of the year and it falls during half term ! Tune in ! :)
It’s half term this week. There will be no classes this week 21st-24th October! Have a nice rest and if you have your exam coming, do practice your dancing, because dancing is fun! It’s half term this week. There will be no classes this week 21st-24th October! Miss Helen has been paparazzid - here she is at her DDMIX refreshers course. DDMIX is Darcey Bussell’s very own work out class filled with all different dance routines and genres. Miss Helen is a trained DDMIX instructor and classes are at 11:45am every Tuesday!
It’s nearly world ballet day and the Royal Ballet have given us a little preview of their rehearsals for La Bayadere! Enjoy 😊
Congratulations to all of our students at Finchley ballet school for achieving great exam results and for showing that hard work pays off !! 🎉
We hope you enjoyed your summer holidays ! Finchley Ballet School return back on the week of the 23rd September. Be prepared to dance the term away and achieve all your dancing goals 😁💪🏼
We had another great Summer workshop this year packed with different styles of dance and some great choreographies from the students for the choreography competition on the final day.
The students had daily ballet and modern classes, musical theatre, repertoire and national dances. They learned dances from Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, English country dances, Singing in the rain, Mary Poppins, Cats, Jungle Book, Bugsy Malone and Grease.
Huge thank you to our amazing teachers, Miss Rachael, Miss Despina, our guest Street dance teacher Ginger and our lovely assistants Miss Francesca and Miss Fabienne. The students and teachers had an amazing time and I hope to see you all back next year!
Congratulations to our vocational ballet students for taking their intermediate ballet exam on Friday!
Yesterday Miss Helen went to watch the final performance of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Hobson’s Choice at the Sadlers Wells theatre. It was a special night for two reasons; one of our ex students, Alexander Yap, was taking part - we are really proud of Alex who has developed into a beautiful dancer!...
secondly, It was the farewell performance in honour of BRB’s great artistic director David Bintley, who is stepping down after 24 years. A truly memorable evening!
Happy weekend everybody. Look how pointe shoes are made ! So fascinating.
Ballet is the basis of all dancing! Enjoy this wonderful scene from Alice in wonderland !
