When you drive in don't be disheartened, as I believe this to be the best fish shop I've ever been to, everything is spotlessly clean and you can tell just by looking that they don't just sell fish they care for them to the highest degree whilst in their care. The father and son team are very friendly and a great source of information and if there's something special you are after these guys will get it for you. I stopped fish keeping 8 years ago as running 2 7ft tanks became a chore but in the years of having those tanks I travelled the country, looking for independent shops. Having recently got back into fish keeping I know I've found the only shop I'll ever need to go to again and its on the doorstep.

Went to meet Elliot and his dad today , really nice nice shop ( amazing two showtanks chaps with the kessil lights ) and most of all nice friendly guys , enthusiastic about fish and some very nicely kept tanks with an interesting species in each of them .

Went in today and was surprised with the great selection of fish! The owner is very knowledgable and gave me great advice about changing my substrate. He also was happy to hold a catfish for me until the change and settling of my substrate. Perfect service!

Visited the fish barn for the first time today . I was delighted to see not only a fine array of fish but how clean the tanks and shop in general were . I was also pleased with the advice given , and will be a shop regular in future .

Took my 13 year old who is just setting up his first aquarium. He had a million questions. The staff at The Fish Barn were incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and patient answering all of his questions and giving him advice. Was very impressed and will definitely be back.

Superb company and the Apistogramma macmasteri I bought are about to spawn. Totally professional outfit.Was impressed by packaging even before I saw the fish. Can’t say enough good things about this company and the free business card makes a great substrate smoother....bonus lol..5 *****...Don’t fear ordering by mail. I live the other end of the country and fish arrived perfectly healthy!

Polite & Pleasant , Faultless .. Great Fish ................... was a bit skeptical on postage cost being a lot lower than some i used in past .. but when arrived it was far more securely packed than most i used that charge almost a tenner more for postage/delivery which tells me they not money hungry and are in it for the love of the fish and helpin others enjoy their fish at a realistic cost ... WILL BE USING THESE GUYS AGAIN

Made a visit to the fish barn on Saturday with my 2 kids and couldn’t have been more happy with the service I received!!! Excellent selection of top quality fish at very reasonable prices!Will definitely return!

I discovered The Fish Barn on Facebook and I was very impressed by the variety of stock on offer at very competitive prices.

I live too far away (Hull, East Yorkshire) to visit the shop in person and so I decided to give them a try by placing an order for overnight courier service, and I am well impressed by everything.

- Communication with Elliot via Messenger or telephone was excellent.

- Fish were reserved for me without a deposit up front and they were even happy to delay the shipment for me at my request to avoid shipping during an extra cold spell of weather.

- The fish arrived expertly packaged and heat packs were still warm.

- The fish are all top quality and I had no losses during transit.

So all in all I will be back without hesitation and if you are looking for an A1 service then look no further as you will not be disappointed.

Don’t be put off by the drive up - it’s well worth a visit and you will be made to feel welcome. We weren’t particularly planning on buying anything but it was hard to resist! Great range of fish. The tanks in this shop are pristine. You can really tell these fish are cared for. Service was brilliant! travelled quite a way to come here and Elliott served me and packed the fish I chose (red backed bleeding heart tetra and black neons) with oxygen and in a secure polystyrene box so they were safe for the journey. Would highly recommend!

From my experience the best fish shop you will ever come across, run by people who know their stuff and care for their fish. Will recommend for both the novice and expert. As a novice you are not alone, with The Fish Barn advise and guidance is plenty to build your confidence. Also don't see the fish or plant you want? no worries, these guys will order it in for you and they make sure It's top quality. A++

Friendly family run business, great knowledge of fish and equipment. All tanks are kept immaculate all fish are healthy. Great service and communication would highly recommend

First visit today and was massively impressed. Great selection of fish for all levels of hobbyist, however even better for the more expirienced with some rare species stock (at great prices too.)

First impressions a bit low. Driving on to the site, frankly it's a bit of a mess so hopes were not that high. On entering the shop - what a difference. The shop is well laid out and the tanks are immaculate. The fish are obviously very well cared for. Large, roomy tanks that are not heavily stocked so the fish have plenty of room to move. A good range of fish and products. Listening to the staff dealing with other customers was good, advising that no question is a stupid question. Useful friendly advise and no hard sell. Will definitely return

Brilliant LFS. Great range of L numbers. Spoke with the guys on the phone a few days before and they were more than happy to reserve a group of L134. Brilliant looking store and even better stock. Will be coming to you guys first in the future. Cheers
