Wild orchard cider spot on served by professional bar staff what more do you want!!!

User

What a wonderful local pub, fantastic range of ales and ciders, accompanied by superb pub food and charming staff. We've lived in West Berkshire for years and feel disappointed it took us so long to visit. There is something on the menu for everyone; they even have pizza oven. Try the Orchard Pig cider with ginger & chilli with one of their homemade pies, an excellent combo. Very good indeed!

User

Very good food, very good beer, very good cider, in fact very good place all round, just wish it was in my village within walking distance

User

This won't take long.

Fabulous !!

Without doubt the best steak and ale pie I have ever eaten. Thrice fried chips, sensational. Perfect veggies.

Staff - friendly & efficient.

Ambience - gorgeous.

User

The food here is amazing and you'll never leave here hungry with the portion sizes. Have eaten here twice now and certainly will be eating here again.

User

Shout out to team #fivebellswickham; our first visit this evening and won't be the last! Lovely upbeat atmosphere, service was spot on and the staff were lovely and friendly, food was amazing and the beer choice was unreal. Really nice to be able to bring my pup in too - a rarity in nice pubs these days! See you guys soon! Xx

User

Last minute table for 6 ages from 6 to 96.

Something for everyone. The food was exceptional and the service timely, friendly, knowledgable and effective, the beer as always was fabulous. We’ll be back soon!

I stumbled across this place on the way back from Cardiff. I’m so glad we stopped here! The food was amazing (especially the chips!) but what really stood out was the service from the staff. All staff were friendly and helpful and really went above and beyond!

Even though you’re miles away from where I live I will be back! Best meal out I’ve ever had!

User

Great service, lush food and amazing selection of gins in a very traditional pub setting - thanks so much! I’ll be back

User

User

Gorgeous food, superb choice of ales and ciders, knowledgeable staff, busy but not heaving so you couldnt move. Super lunch, will be back.

User

Found the Five Bells by chance and stopped on the off chance of a passable pint and some food. Found the best selection of Real Ales and Ciders, a delicious top notch menu at sensible prices and very welcoming and friendly hosts.

Will definitely visit again, absolutely fabulous all round. A real treat and highly recommended to anyone who appreciates proper Ale/Cider and Tasty Grub

User

First time I've been I met my friend for lunch which was delicious and huge considering the price which was excellent. The staff were very polite and attentive. Lovely pretty pub with a great atmosphere. I will certainly visit again. Only wish they didn't close at 3 because I would have stayed longer!!!

User

User

A lovely Sunday afternoon spent at The Five Bells. A 'proper' pub; fab food and lovely staff and the boys enjoyed the ale! Will certainly be recommending and heading back over soon! Thank you.

I, and various companions, regularly go to the Five Bells, at least once a month, because of what is on the menu and the politeness and good service of the staff. Yesterday (24th Jan) was another trip – with a friend – and I asked for my usual (Gammon), only to be told, “They no longer do it.” The dish, I know, was very popular, not just by me. I did ask the young girl if they would reconsider it, but she was a bit nonplussed and just smiled. So, I had to settle for something else. While in the Five Bells I was informed by a customer/ chef that so-and-so pub does it (that is the gammon). I’ve been going for donkey’s year to that pub, and for some ludicrous reason they dumped a popular dish. Nevertheless, chefs’ are the masters’ their space and if we – the customer - don’t like their decisions we just have to accept it and move on. Pity!

As for what Stars I should give it. Five for previous gammon service, but two for removing a popular dish. Unless they should change their mind!
